She makes a good point in a segment here: a lot of politicians study and speak in "politics speak" which is something Black politicians shun because it wouldn't gain us access. Hence why you have a lot of Black Democrats who have no problem speaking like real people.

It may be time for all Dems to speak like real people. Abandon the politics equivalent of the weather person cadence.

Don't really think you're grasping the "right side of history" part, their eventual correctness is divinely ordained. Maybe you need to more closely read the scriptures basic theory.

Any advice regarding suicidal thoughts and active planning over this? 30 years of therapy and meds, 5 years of ketamine, and multiple hospital stays and a supportive family haven't done a thing.

Look into what options you have to get out of the country, if any. Check to see if other countries are looking for your skills, or if there are any you might be interested in moving to that have family ties to that you can use to get appropriate papers or if that have relatively cheap 'buy in' levels that you can afford.

I'm not planning on running because I've worked too hard to build a life for myself and I'll fight for it first, but it's still been helpful working to get everything in place so my options are stay here vs move abroad rather than stay alive or don't. It's helped somewhat limit the stakes.

Eh. Death and non-existence sound a lot more appealing TBH. The idea of never feeling anything at all again.

I guess I want to try and get a Switch 2 at least first, though after that I'll probably have literally nothing interesting me to keep going.

South Dallas is lucky to have her as their rep.
She may be from St. Louis, but DFW has accepted her as their own.

Jasmine Crockett is one of the most important faces of the Democratic Party for me. She speaks truth to power constantly and actually cuts through the bullshit unlike most politicians.

Of course the double standard levied against her for being both Black and a woman already has seen tons of thinly veiled racism lobbed at her from supposed liberals and progressives who don't like how she comes across which is hardly unsurprising.

And she's actually trying to accomplish something unlike the bloviating of other certain elected officials who abandoned their Black constituents/lawmakers when they asked for help, has passed no legislation and only seems interested in doing rallies.

Over two years in Congress, Crockett has not had a single bill moved into committee let alone passed.

Her district is 75+% Democrat, she gets constant media exposure for just saying things. This clip is her on one of the nation's most popular talk shows because she's popular with the media on social media.

I smiled all the way through that, which I never thought would happen with a 10 minute Jimmy Kimmel clip. A small sliver of hope for the future.

We could 100% use some of that no bullshit energy over in the UK right now.

If there's one thing I especially appreciate with how she talks is that she's not afraid to call out BS or tell it like it is. So many Democrats try to go for BS decorum nonsense but she'll call out nonsense for what it actually is. It's a breath of fresh air

I know another guy who the first thing people say they like about him is that he "tells it like it is", ignores decorum and has no use for DC political traditions.
