SBF and some others in Silicon Valley had spend quite a bit to make Biden win. In fact, some felt the price to win had been too high and would be higher in 2024 still. So SBF came up with an alternative, what if in addition to spending on a bunch of different campaigns and PACs to keep MAGA from power they would simply pay off Trump himself to not run again. The idea was apparently floated to a Trump ally who came back with a number: $5 billion.
