I'm not a politico with media training and staff on retainer to fact check, but seems to me one of the pillars of being a democratic regime is, you know, holding elections.

The last free and fair elections were in 2016 and Brexit, after that shocker everyone opted for a 'managed' democracy.
It is all managed either before voting with international agreements, (social-)media propaganda and by trying to harass, bully and threaten candidates or after the outcome of the actual vote by blocking the winner from implementing his new policies or simply denying him taking office (see Geert Wilders).

I'm curious what will happen in the UK. My bet is labour and the tories will govern together if that is the only way to keep the 'third parties' out of power.

Someone like RFK Jr. , who wants to dismantle the military industrial complex in favor of humanitarian pursuits will never be allowed near the White House.
They won't debate him, they won't invite him and whenever he gets some traction the hit pieces appear.

I don't know if that is a good or a bad thing but its certainly not Democratic.

What will happen in the UK is everyone will calm the fuck down and within the medium term start to feel richer because the adults are in charge with a huge majority

is she implying that israel wasn't already a free and democratic country like the USA, or that they weren't also working toward that as a goal

like taking a sledgehammer to a local restaurant saying "I JUST WANT TO CREATE A LOCATION WHERE FOOD IS PREPARED AND CAN BE PURCHASED, IS THAT SO WRONG"

yeah, imagine that, finding out new information can change your mind, imagine if YOU said you wanted to hook up with someone and the next words they said were "by the way I can't wait to vote for Trump again"

We haven't had a functioning government since 2015 at least. The amount of pissing about for no benefit whatsoever is extravagant in a way that the human mind cannot fully comprehend.

The amount of junk science in these reports is astounding...

Quote:When we think of climate and environmental issues such as climate-linked disasters or biodiversity loss, we don’t tend to think about gender. At first glance, it may seem irrelevant.

But a growing body of evidence demonstrates women and gender-diverse people are disproportionately vulnerable to the changing climate and the consequences it brings.

Women are 14 times more likely to die in a climate change-related disaster than men. Women represent 80% of people displaced by extreme weather.

So, what's their evidence for this claim?

This report is what they use to support their claim: https://www.undp.org/blog/women-are-hit-hardest-disasters-so-why-are-responses-too-often-gender-blind

Quote:The statistics are staggering; when disaster strikes, women and children are 14 times more likely than men to die. Let me use a real example: of the 230,000 people killed in the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, 70 percent were women.

Ummm, tsunamis caused by undersea earthquakes are climate-related disasters now?

What the fuck are these people taking about?

The track record of the left in Europe has been abysmal to say the least.

I'm honestly starting to lean towards soulless bankers like Rutte and Sunak, mostly because the populists don't have the support and networks to actually enact their policies and fill seats with suitable candidates and the left only wants climate hysteria, forced diversity and the latest edition of the rainbow flags on every government building.

The EU has been pissing about since 2008 or so even longer than the tories. It took them 8(!) years to come up with a new migration pact, which was basically the same as the previous one.

I certainly hope I'm wrong and Labour in the UK can finally show that a left wing government will help the middle class and workers and not just indulge in petty identity politics and climate doom as inflation soars because of their spending.

if these statistics are correct, I wonder why

kids obviously are smaller, dumber and more fragile, of course they die in emergency situations

are women that much more fragile and dumber about getting to safety?

is it because in the Indian Ocean region, men tend to have vehicles while women are homebodies serving their men, so the men are able to get the fuck out and drive off but women are indoors and don't realize a tsunami is coming?

Maybe the men were inland working and the women were in coastal areas in homes.

IDK but none of those deaths are related to climate change

I watched that debate with her, Michael Moynihan and some other blokes, and my god is she insufferable. It's like her parents found out she had a relaxed brain but tried to overcompensate with confidence and overshot.

Also, can women not change their mind and retract consent anymore? Or they can as long as it's with the right person?

A far right activist and four other people were stabbed by an Islamic attacker in Germany. One of the cops who tried to stop the attacker has now passed away. People then showed up to demonstrate... against the far right

Fair to say that Germany is going deeper and deeper into a divide

Welcome to Europe where diversity is our strength.

That's why I'm voting for Geertje

LESS ASYLUM AND IMMIGRATION

The Netherlands is being destroyed by the asylum tsunami.

Make the PVV the largest and NOT Frans Timmermans his GL-PvdA! (Greens/Labour)

The Dutch are back on 1!

If you want open borders and therefore more terrorists, knife-wielders and Hamas supporters to enter, then vote left.

If you want fewer asylum and a tough approach to terror, anti-Semitism and violence and want to make the Netherlands safer, then vote PVV!

Germany seems like a madhouse. Last week their media doxes and calls for firing and jailing of Germans singing at a party. Days ago you have this stabbing, and the media frames it as an unidentified man in censored photos with mysterious goals going on a stabbing spree against the far right. I don't know if it's battered woman syndrome or what.
