I think 2 consecutive terms are just a thing of the past. The world moves too fast for a President to retain support for 4 years.
They voted for Biden to end Covid, they're voting for Trump to fix the inflation and high prices. In 4 years they'll vote for whoever can deal with the aliens, floods or whatever the current event is.

Anyone who blames current governments for inflation is actually retarded. Anyone who didn't realise there was an inflationary bubble coming is also retarded.

Quote:The White House is telling lawmakers that President Joe Biden is preparing to sign off on an executive order that would shut down asylum requests at the U.S.-Mexico border once the average number of daily encounters hits 2,500 between ports of entry, with the border reopening only once that number declines to 1,500, according to several people familiar with the discussions.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/white-house-uses-nyt-pitchbot-to-further-feud-with-gray-lady wrote:The White House has grown so frustrated with The New York Times’ coverage of President Joe Biden that it’s opted to pitch ideas to one of the paper’s most public critics: the NYT Pitchbot account on X. According to a Politico report on the simmering tensions between the Times and the White House, deputy press secretary Andrew Bates has developed such a rapport with the Pitchbot account to the point where he has suggested content it could post. The parody account tweets out fake headlines that often spoof how the Times has covered the Biden administration. The account has become a favorite of Biden’s, prompting a reference during his speech at the 2023 White House Correspondents’ Dinner. “I love that guy,” Biden said. “I should do an interview with him.” The piece recounted the paper and its publisher’s anger with Biden’s team over his refusal to sit for an interview.
