United States Politics: It's called we do a little federal crime...

J.D. Vance is a smart guy, it's clear that the VC tech wing has now beaten the conservative, establishment and tea party wings of the GOP.
As usual the press did a terrible job covering the power struggle within the Republican party (and it's still partially going on behind the scenes).
As I said before old money vs. new money and a more diverse group of people stand behind Trump now.

It certainly has the Democrats and their dinosaurs shook. They had firmly locked big tech under their woke/DEI/corpo umbrella through Microsoft, Google, Facebook and Apple. All that money, data and tech flowing into the Obama and Clinton campaigns. But the new generation of entrepeneurs figured out on time that the deck was stacked against them, their freedom, achievements and innovation. I wonder if Musk calculated this when he did those mass lay-offs at Twitter. Maybe he knew that the other CEOs devoid of any ideas of their own would follow suit and that would open up a big number of highly intelligent people to the truth that they were better off outside the corpo cults and communes of Facebook and Microsoft.

Let's hope Vance can right the mistakes of the Sillicon Valley sell outs like Zuckerberg and Tim Cook. Wrestle tech free from the bureaucrats and corpo suits.

If Steve Jobs was alive today, he'd probably be backing RFK Jr. though.
Weird that the "VC tech wing" is winning when it results in the top two spots on the ticket being guys who oppose capitalism and free speech. hmm

Listen. You're a hell of a good guy, and I'm fonder of you than anybody on earth. I couldn't tell you that in New York. It'd mean I was a faggot. That was what the Civil War was about. Abraham Lincoln was a faggot. He was in love with General Grant. So was Jefferson Davis. Lincoln just freed the slaves on a bet.

Musk donates 45 million a month to a Trump Super PAC.

They had eyes on the shooter long before he took the shot

Trump was saved by god so this could happen

tbf if you are god and you're watching everyone and everything from the heavens, out of many billions of humans; Trump is probably one of your most enjoyable NPC's in recent history.

Just gotta get Biden out of here first...

The would-be assassin being a deranged republican means there should be no time wasted on getting Biden out the race. If it was a leftist it would be an awkward situation and democrats would likely pause a lot of shit to do damage control. But that wasn't the case so whatever Pelosi/Obama/etc were doing behind the scenes should continue. Trump remains a weak candidate, and while I think Biden could beat him post-debate I'm not willing to risk another public fuck up.

Biden staying ensures a never ending cycle between him over extending himself in public events to prove he can still do it, followed by days (weeks?) of him being physically depleted and looking bad as he recovers. Too much at steak to risk on this shit.

I think there is just not enough time to replace Biden unless they replace him with Kamala, which means he also won't be President anymore.
And once that change happens, Kamala will be too busy to deal with setting up her administration and shaking hands with donors and across the globe with allies to effectively campaign.

Also openly challenging Biden before he steps back and losing to Trump would be career ending for the top candidates.
Better to wait until 2028.

All this nonsense about threats to democracy means that the GOP can hide the infighting in the party by being 'united' against the establishment.
But in reality the party is deeply divided. Apart from the group that wants to get rid of Trump, there is also fractions within the MAGA and conservative movements.

While multiple wings of the party support the same policies, they support them for entirely different reasons. Elon Musk is not backing the pro-life ideas based on a religious ideal but because of his own theory regarding the declining birth rates. The far right element is concerned about the 'replacement' of the native population and at the same time the party becomes more diverse. A lot of people did not like the Sikh prayer and Amber Rose being among the first speakers at the RNC. While others didn't like the platform the Democrat union leader got. As usual with conservative parties, the real politik wing that has sympathy for Russian concerns about NATO also isn't broadly supported as David Sacks did not get the cheers he expected.

In fact, I doubt 2016 Trump would be very excited about the 2024 RNC with or without getting shot.
