Really side-eyeing many of the responses here. I'm one of the vocal few that absolutely loved Concord here yet this place was inundated with endless derision and hate for the game.

So honestly after the internet mocked the game , it's numbers and the devs…NOW we're concerned about Sony shutting them down?

This is a really funny kind of humblebrag. "Yeah, I loved this historically massive failure, but you guys weren't even wrong about its failure to achieve mass appeal!"

Damn, even though Concord was a flop they could have had Firewalk remaking the Resistance series ASAP and they could have had those done in like a year. $70 * (atleast) 10,000,000 copies is $700,000,000 = Concord losses erased.

I think it's an actually an example of how releasing on PC kinda backfired. The game was clearly geared toward controller players and much of the online discourse pointed toward the game costing money and plenty of free games being available in the same genre, which might be true on PC but it certainly isn't on PS5. Then we have the game's beta failure being a spectator sport via steam concurrent numbers just after, which was essentially the start gun for YouTuber circlejerks, hate watching and chuds supremacy - the game was largely ignored before that, which is bad in its own right.

I'm still so salty about this, not really with Sony shutting them down, but more the gaming community relishing the situation for the lols and how often I hear people say it's about the gameplay but are ready to kill a game because of one or two character models (nobody talks about Kyps because she's the GOAT) without uttering a word about gameplay. The same types bitch and moan about yearly COD or a lack of innovation but it's just yap in the end.

Got a couple of things to say about this.

You're not wrong on the tenor of the previous and current thread. Some of the absolutely fixation on TransEra, and some posters specifically, is a bit creepy, but when people start throwing around 'KYS' and shit, you've lost the plot in my book, as tattered as it may be. Its to my own discredit and cowardice I don't call it out. Maybe its just my morality, but my gall with ERA on the whole is hypocrisy and self-righteousness, not them being trans. 

Just want to say that I agree with every single word you said, JoeBoy101 (and also agree, do stick around ComeAgain, you're a good poster), and it's something I found I was becoming guilty of too. A couple of weeks ago, GameBoy Nostalgia's post made me realise I was targeting Melody Shreds a little too much and I have completely stopped posting about him. He's ultimately weird and harmless.

However, I would make a counter-point: The reason TheBore focusses on TransEra is pretty simple: they have taken over ResetEra.

Kyuuji, Clicky Cal, Volimar, plagiarize and a handful of other vicious voices, have managed to become such dominant loudmouths in the past 3 years that they have reshaped the entire discourse of ResetEra. Just a small group of people have the power to get anyone they dislike dogpiled on and, 99% of the time, banned.

Even now, we have the ridiculousness of one of the best selling games of all time, Hogwarts Legacy, referred to as 'The Wizard Game' by people in their late 30's and 40's for fear of upsetting TransEra.

So it's only natural that the loudest, nastiest voices command the greatest attention here on TheBore. Bullies get noticed.

Oh so we're shifting the blame on PC now, ignoring the fact that Sony's biggest gaas title also launched on PC day 1. Or how Destiny 2 found success on PC launch despite being a very console centric game with $60 price tag back then.

Concord never got the attention it needed even since the first gameplay reveal on SoP. People simply didn't care about it. That's it.

I'm pointing to the truisms spoken about the game that are still repeated even in this thread by YouTubers, streamers and even reviews of the game which talk about the 40 price point being too much when there are free games that are available doing the same, going into a crowded genre, etc. On PS5 I'm pretty sure that's like Apex and Overwatch 2, and I can't remember any other games really other than Fortnite. The finals maybe? I wouldn't compare them personally.

My point was how PC centric the complaints around the game were as a PS5 player who literally doesn't have a game like Concord to play, whilst being told I can play loads of games like this for free. Do you understand? It's not as simple as *blaming* but the concurrent number thing is weird ngl.

The game was hated from the initial showing, largely in part of the animosity towards Sony having the temerity to make their own GaaS titles. (Square that with Destiny 2 and Helldivers lol)

There's been some rhetoric in otherwise decent YT channels just shitting on Concord and Firewalk for delivering "a turd no one wanted".

It's this kind of rhetoric that I fucking hate. The gaming community is so insanely harsh to game devs, despite them being the people making the games everyone loves.

Meanwhile, streamers get lots of love, donations, and even get sent free games for god knows what reason.

I have no beef with streamers specifically, but I see the difference in how streamers and content creators are treated vs. game devs, and it's just disgusting to me.

So while I may not ban or filter (more) slurs, nor the people who get around the existing filters or use terms that maybe could be filtered, I do look down at it. And tut-tut at how uncouth you garbage deplorables are. Be better, savage their delusional personalities not their meaningless demographic characteristics. Oh, and end genocide (of progressive gaming studios).
