The thing that gets me is that the country is capable of voting for this twice. It means the country is fundamentally broken. There are simply too many people, a majority, that have no decency, and that will not change in 4 years or 8 or so on.

We'll carry on and fight and take care of each other, cause what else are you going to do? But I have no hope anymore. I will never see things get better in my lifetime, only worse. I will continue the struggle simply because it's the right thing to do but not because it will achieve anything. People as a whole simply are not good enough and if that ever changes, it'll change for too slowly for us.

We need to carry on the fight with a vague hope that future generations can win but I will die in defeat and despair, thinking poorly of humanity as a whole. This was the lot of previous generations as well.

I've been a lurker for awhile, I came here to discuss the election tonight as I knew trump lost the popular vote twice, in my mind I didn't think this scenario was even possible.. I had a feeling that Trump would lose the popular vote a third time and there was no possible way he'd win, I'm at a loss for words atm... how anyone could willingly vote for him again after all the batshit things that have happened on his watch, his rallies..

I've been battling long term depression that seems to have a lot stemming from Trump coming into politics about 10 years ago. Seeing my family become clearly supportive of everything they taught me was morally wrong growing up just messed me up. Not only that but basically worship the guy, I couldn't escape his name for even one day those years. The only reprieve was Biden winning and the excitement for Trump dying down for a couple years. Finally I didn't have to hear about Trump every single day. But that was just a small break in what is gonna be another Trump dominated decade. Who knows what will happen now, but if four years out of power can't even stop Trumpism from winning out I don't see how our politics get any better even if somehow Trump doesn't attempt to get rid of term limits and succeed in doing that. I'm not convinced he won't try. Either way this is the politics the majority of people align with, Republicans will get even more power and it's fucking depressing.

My 20s were ruined by this and looks like my 30s will go the same way. And my parents generation happily cheers it on. What a miserable life.
