GAF/ERA has always been so  and Nintendo obsessed that I don't think they really understand the extent of victory Microsoft managed with the Xbox in America. It was Europe's loyalty to the PlayStation because of the first PlayStation into 2 that's hidden that, especially as the rest of the world has Americanized through the internet. For a lot of that population, and the Global South, consoles were PlayStation first and remained so. (Except for Brazil, with the Master System, which clearly explains why Nepenthe supported Sega by being a moderator on a Sonic forum for so long.) That's large chunks of the global population who aren't going to know about your console wars shit, they'll talk about PlayStation like our parents called every video game a Nintendo forever.

Xbox 360 is like the MegaDrive/Genesis. The one hit wonder that defined a generation and the company that made it never managed to find out why it was such a success in the first place.

And yes Nintendo's post NES "success" is taken wildly out of proportion especially if you don't include Pokemon. If you look at sales numbers of games like Ocarina of Time, that's 7 million and on par with Tomb Raider. Nintendo mostly relied on that holiday gift market of a console + pack-in or that one killer app. That's why you see such high numbers for games like Tetris, Mario 64, Pokemon, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Wii Sports etc. and everything else lags way behind. Also one of the reasons why third parties lost interest in Nintendo consoles and in most generations they cut games in development post-launch and narrowed it down to a single big holiday release. They weren't able to fix this until the Switch.

Especially with PS1/PS2/PS4 Sony focused on that young adult with disposable income market that would regularly buy new games themselves and not just the one holiday release.

Look, it's fine to be frustrated who voted for Trump idiotically for "lower prices", but we can also admit that things ARE hard out here in this economy, and many people actually are struggling with how high prices have been these past few years and it's not just idiots who are bad at budgeting or financing. Some of the rhetoric in this last page has been pretty strange, and sounds like how conservatives complain about poor people, and especially minorities.

"The economy would be fine if these dirty poors were just smarter with their money!"

Anecdotes about Whole Foods and $45 cups are about as relevant as "I saw a woman buying steak and lobster with her food stamps". Useless nonsense.

It always seems like a lot of the modern liberal schemes to help the economy just completely miss their mark.

Free interest loans for example, sound good on paper but if you're already in debt the last thing you consider is taking on another loan.

Credit to set up a new small business? In most cases small business can't survive against big corporations so folks won't even bother and the poor people don't even know how to set up a business, that's why they have 2 or 3 jobs to make ends meet.

Down payment for a house? If you can't afford rent and are up to your eyeballs in debt already, how are you going to buy a house?

$7500 EV tax credit, again designed to make EVs more affordable but the reality is a lot of working class people don't buy EVs. If you take that $7500 and buy a Tesla and no longer have high gas bills then sure in due course you'll save money when you add it all up over a 5 or 10 year period. But most people are forced to buy a new car when the old one breaks down and their decision isn't based on some long term plan to buy a more expensive car in order to save money on gas later. 

The idea of the liberals seems to have been that if you increase prices on 'bad' things and decrease prices on 'good' things the poor people will automatically shift to 'good' things. The reality is that they're just mad about higher prices for food, gas and other basic things. At the same time the liberal elite makes full use of the various incentives wondering why the poor people are so mad when the government is spending so much to help out.

The solution to prevent a Trump win or indeed a right wing shift is simple. Instead of green new deals and open borders to fill up vacancies quicker, they should've gradually phased out the COVID stimulus checks based on income over a period of 1 or 2 years instead of ending them cold turkey.

As dumb an idea this is, it is not even remotely suggesting people being rounded up involuntarily.
