If one is inferring guilt from a reminder about the mere existence of oppression, then that is a personal admittance that one, presumably as a literate and indepedent adult, should be able to constructively confront and question. One should have the abilty to take a second and ask "Why do I feel this way? What is driving me to feel attacked? Why am I centering myself in a conversation about a much bigger issue?"

These are basic emotional regulation skills that should've been exercised and strengthened back in one's college years. The progressiveness of Era is largely a sham. I've come to slowly realize and conclude over the years that this is not really a place where meaningful dialogue, education, organization and community-building can occur. Part of that is because, as you say, discussions go south 70% of the time, but they do so in part because the majority of people who frequent this place are people who are in higher castes (white, cis, male, able-bodied, middle class to wealthy) and have not examined their colonial and oppressive biases and thus are more likely to align with an oppressive status quo than not, or they are folks who use their very real marginalization as a defense against critique of oppressive behaviors that they have also internalized because they too exist in an oppressive world. So what if they meet the bar of not being consciously shitty to ethnic minorities and queer people? That's just being polite. Trumpers can actually be polite too.

Another part of the problem is that organization inevitably takes work out in the real world, which necessitates you being offline to actually get things done, which in turn means you cannot post on Era and be doing community work at the same time (responsibly anyways). I mean if you want a PS5 Pro and have the money, go for it. I just personally think it's dumb when there are hardly any exclusives to specifically get the Pro for and the current ones perform fine on the normal PS5. Plus more are getting ported to Steam quicker with better performance anyways.
