They randomly just dropped Star Trek: Prodigy on UK Netflix, because No1curr about paramount+ and god forbid they dump trek on only one fucking streaming service, and uhhhhhhh it's actually pretty fucking good as YA Trek?

More surprisingly, its straight up a legit sequel to Voyager.
Less surprisingly, this is, what, 7th? 8th? time they've had a go at 'temporal cold war' / 'villain from the future' as a major plot point (spoilers I guess, but I kinda don't think most of you are gonna be bamboozled by a nickelodeon show) but they do it pretty well.

It's on Netflix in Japan as well. It's really pretty! I enjoy how much they get to create and play in weird environments, since pure CG is simpler to intergrate than live-action with CG.

I'm not a huge fan of that Pixar / Clone Wars / Civilization Leaders character art style, but I guess it has been sufficiently focus tested as appealing to kids by this point, and one of the crew straight up looks like one of the co-op robots from Portal 2.

I'm also torn on their Kobayashi Maru episode, because on the one hand its super canon accurate and also fairly tastefully done, but on the other is still using dead peoples likenesses and performances for a commercial endeavour after they've passed (and in the case of Spock you can audibly tell from how his voice changed over time from what time periods of trek they were recycling his voice lines from)

New Trek game on Steam, originally from the Apple Arcade apparently but "upgraded", has a demo available (though does not appear to be showing on the store page):

Yup its insane garbage.

Whoever decided this would be a good idea for Trek?

A Section 31 show should be about fucking James Bond type shit, where your worst enemy gets poisoned by a small handshake he gave to a Romulan senator.

Fuck Paramount and fuck Alex Kurtzman
