On a whim decide to start up Mass Effect 2 on Deck tonight. First time playing since launch (never even played the DLC!).

The effects of DEI (or whatever you want to call it), at least at Bioware, aren't negligible. The disparity between the writing for this compared to Veilguard is comical - and want to know something else? The game starts off with your first two companions being a woman and a black man (my brain is REELING imagining how modern Bioware would write Miranda). Except they're written as people instead of braindead caricatures. 

It's no wonder people just want to focus on making normal narratives without the nonsense.

They happened to be there at 2am because they (1) wanted to attack him and (2) wanted to do so at night when there are few witnesses. So they wait outside his residence until he either leaves or returns from elsewhere.

Celebrity residences are often the subject of rampant hearsay and rumor-mongering. When I lived in Chicago people frequently discussed where famous people lived.

Any reasonable, rationale person would not be skeptical that he was, in fact, attacked.

I hope this thread has generated a good long discussion and a shitload of introspection and consideration from the moderation team regarding the standards and quality of moderation on this forum.

Instead of just over-reacting and banning dissenting opinions, maybe there should have been an attempt to engage with people to try to understand why they thought the whole story was fishy (which it is now well beyond any reasonable doubt).

Instead, this whole thing was turned into a massive race/culture war where those with power abused it to shut out those they didn't agree with and then got egg all over their faces when all of the doubts people had initially were shown to be legitimate and not just borne out of "white privilege" or whatever buzzword insult was being thrown around.

I couldn't give three fucking shits about this guy and before this thread I didn't even know who he was. I certainly don't give a shit about whether he set this whole thing up or not and am only here because this episode is a perfect illustration of what is wrong with this place.
