I need to vent a bit.

I worked at this company for 7 years, last few years have been shit and realized I don't want to do that line of work. So I did a smart move, my company allows education leaves so I took advantage. I decided to go back to school for something else (HR) and I like it. I currently have an upaid placement and was hoping for some type of work afterwards, It's looking a bit more grim now I still have 4 weeks left in my placement, During this whole 1 year off none of my co-workers messaged me and that was fine. All of a sudden starting 2 weeks ago they all start messaging me being super nice at first and chummy and then dropping conversation after asking what my status is. I said to each well if I don't have a job maybe i'll come back for a bit. Well these past 2 days one of them keeps messaging me non-stop sending long messages saying well we like the new person and they would love to stay and sending me pictures of well you need to tell HR at the company by this day and you should make up your mind.

Honestly, I don't want to go back but I need money. It hurts I ain't gonna lie. I was there for 7 years and the last 2 were hell and when I left last June nobody said goodbye or even a card for leaving,

I think i'm just gonna not come back to the company.

What's every bodies thoughts?

I'm somewhat in a similar situation. I'm a caregiver for my dad but also took the time to study and earn some certifications/masters. Discovered a couple weeks ago my boss was bad mouthing me at a team meeting and basically saying she was going to try firing me or forcing me to return to work in my previous role.

Sure, it sucks you would hope people would treat you like a human, especially from the time you put in. But at the end of the day you shouldn't expect much from people, especially in this economy. Do what's best for you and move on, allow yourself to be selfish no one else is going to look after you.

What would that data actually tell you? Did they die early? Was it related to eating meat? Were the vegans of such weak constitution that their only risky activity was participating in university campus protests and Twitter shit posting and therefore didn't die of accidents and unrelated activity? 

One of the limitations of the study was that they didn't check for all that stuff. 

One simple adjective would have helped. "Early" death makes sense. Just "death" does not.

It's junk science anyway. I have no doubt there's some political or business interest influencing the results.
