Alright, I looked at the lawsuit filings.

In May, Faren alleged that Zenimax had fucked up somehow and their medical insurance was improperly terminated. (They had agreed to leave the company in February 2022 in return for having Zenimax pay for so many months of insurance so they could get a whole bunch of gender affirming surgeries.) In July, Zenimax said this wasn't their fault since they sent in everything properly and even though it wasn't their fault they reached out and the insurance that was improperly handled was taken care of and has been backdated to have applied to the proper periods, also Faren never told them about this until they got the lawsuit, so the whole thing should just be dismissed. (One of the sealed exhibits was everything the insurance had paid for.)

Now, as in last week, Faren has amended their complaint and is now suing Zenimax for TRANSPHOBIA and INTENTIONAL DISCRIMINATION alleging (with no new evidence) that Zenimax deliberately did this to harm anyone who is not cis and Faren specifically. This fits the timeline for the video and reddit release.

Also Faren's attorney doesn't know who their client is, their notice of amended complaint says it's for "Plaintiff Vonetta Spraggins" because they probably copy-pasted from another case.

I mean, i get you to an extent but you just require less than 2 seconds to think “this is pretty unfunny racist shit that will make 4chan blush of embarrassment”.

He just got suspended. We still don’t know if he will be suspended indefinitely or if NASCAR will just wait that the storm is over. 

But again, is pretty charitable to think he just click the wrong button (specially since his statement confirms that he did willingly) to teachers showing a picture of Mohammad in art class while being as polite as possible.

I half agree. I hate the joke, but I couldn't tell you why I hate that one but think a lot of 9/11 jokes are funny. The latter is definitely far more traumatic, objectively, yet we as a society are largely okay with them, despite those affected still being as young as late 20's. Can you explain why 9/11 jokes are okay? I can't, and so I also don't really blame people for crossing societal lines that are so inconsistent it's easy to be misled as to what's acceptable.

i got fired last week for refusing to shut up about how fucked it is that a (cis) WH staffer called our (cis) executive director to successfully have me disciplined for criticizing the admin's inaction in a healthcare ban policy memo that my own boss forwarded to them. i have heard from a trans comrade at a different org that they were also recently disciplined in the same manner. personally i would prefer a president whose admin doesn't react to criticism from the targets of fascist attacks by exerting pressure on advocacy organizations to quell dissent instead of doing something useful.

the orgs are culpable for being so thoroughly captured by shitty democrats, but that doesn't excuse the admin for being shitty democrats.

Was thinking about this over the Japanese audience reaction to Barbie co-marketing with Oppenheimer. In an attempt to illustrate their point, some mocked up images of Barbie next to the twin towers. Reaction from Americans on Twitter was “that’s funny! We have dark edgy humor!” But I don’t think it would’ve gone down like that if Barbie was edited into certain other situations. Dark and edgy humor, really over the past six to eight years, has very clear lines.

Also, those making jokes about Floyd are likely to get offended at jokes about the lady killed on Jan 6. And that works in reverse.

It’s confusing. It’s why I only allow myself to laugh at Yakov Smirnoff’s jokes.

after my ir adderall disappeared i tried:

• caffeine for a week. i hate it and never used to use it. absolute worst stim i've ever had.
  
• decent [stimulant drug] for a few days. too erratic. no idea how 19th century philosophers did it.
  
• inconsistent [other stimulant drug] for a few days. too grindy though apparently you can get used to it.
  
• switching my scrip to ritalin. did literally nothing for me, guess my metabolism sucks and/or my other mental illnesses/prescriptions fucked with it
  
• switching my scrip to vyvanse. no idea how that would be. it's been two months and i haven't found anywhere that can fill it yet. scrip is probably expired i guess.

sadly i don't think availability is the issue for me

go find a private psych in your nearest university town and pay them the $200 out of pocket they ask for, you can absolutely regain access if you need it. (obviously hard to do unmedicated but it's very achievable if you give up on getting anything other than a scrip out of the 15-minute "sessions" and have the cash to just go along with the grift.) once you have it it's a lot easier to get a gp to just keep writing it in perpetuity. alternatively if you have any friends in the harm reduction or drug scene they may be able to direct you to a pill mill clinic. i went to a pill mill doc at first when i moved back home and just needed someone willing to write scrips for the hrt i've been on for 11 years without throwing a fit; it was smooth and uncomplicated. they even threw in mmj papers!

getting hrt scrips the first time around in louisiana back in 2012 when there were only like four docs in the state willing to start you on it was so insane and demeaning that it completely fucked my trust in the medical establishment. everything gets easier once you've been trained to just view doctors as drug-dispensing atms you just have to learn to press the right buttons on.

i'll (probably) be okay. i negotiated a decent severance agreement with no non-disclosure/nondisparagement provisions and my own language retaining rights to bill tracking IP i created and the substance of my policy analyses for them. just need to figure out what's next. it probably won't be another spineless queer national, which is a little daunting because that's been my thing for six years, but i'm in initial talks with two other folks about starting a new worker-owned bodily autonomy skunkworks org to house unified trans/abortion/harm reduction policy and practical support throughout the south.

i'm proud that my final two contributions to slack were calling out leadership for dropping their opposition to KOSA (overruling me as their policy analyst) and complaining that it was fucking dumb to give an interview about the trans hyde amendments in congress to the deputy ed (cis) instead of me (trans), the person the reporter reached out to based on previous work together. i have never been coy about the fact that whoever signs my paychecks i consider myself to work for community, so this was bound to happen eventually when the org's goals drifted far enough away from community needs. i will always be the squeaky wheel for sex workers, people who use drugs, and trans folks, even if that means getting canned by establishment lifers. my ethics and politics demand it of me, and i'm all three of those things in any case.
