Wrong. After the ATARI crash Nintendo wanted to bring their arcade games into homes but they realized the risk would be too big to shrink down that type of hardware.
In addition they knew that no American or Japanese retailer wanted to stock videogame consoles. So instead they set out to create a "toy" for the US market and a "family computer" for the Japanese market that would cost no more than $99, which meant licensing the cheapest by then decade old CPU design and pairing it up with a rather neat custom sprite chip. All the toy and computer things fell by the wayside once the main focus became the games. 

Unlike SEGA, who just picked the Motorola 68000 32-bit CPU for the MegaDrive, Nintendo licensed a CPU already customized by Apple for the SNES and made even more changes to it like increasing the RAM. They also went to Sony for a custom sound chip design. In addition they revamped the controller by adding 2 more face buttons and introduced shoulder buttons. Something the first 3-button MegaDrive controllers didn't have. You could argue that the SNES was actually Nintendo's first pure videogame console and the first console that was nearly 100% custom designed, not derived from arcade hardware or put together from existing parts.

- The GBA was just a more powerful GB & would've surpassed the original if the DS didn't cut its life short.

Wrong again and it wouldn't have surpassed the original. Nintendo thought it would too so they made the GameBoy Micro but by the time that landed the GameBoy hardware sales had already plummeted. The people buying were basically just replacing their broken GBAs, buying Flashcart+GBA bundles or cheap gifts. Games were selling less and less so third parties were also scaling back support. Nintendo released a prototype hardware unit and demo games (DS phat, Metroid Prime Hunters, Steel Diver, Yoshi Touch & Go) with a GBA cartridge slot because the GameBoy was fading fast. Remember the DS thumb strap that fucked up your screen and playing Super Mario 64 with a D-Pad? 

- The 3DS faltered early on due to Nintendo's own hubris.

It wasn't hubris it was cost. The 3DS released around the time smartphone and tablet sales were surging. Screens were expensive, it's why each 3DS came equipped with a hodgepodge of different quality types of screens. It was just a matter of what they could get their hands on. To drop the price by $50 Nintendo had to eat up quite some cost. The hardware inside was also plan B. Nintendo had hoped to use a more powerful Nvidia Tegra but that didn't pan out (most likely because of poor battery life) so they had to replace it with a less capable graphics chip. Nintendo also wanted to position it as a more 'fashionable' device for adults. The part of it that was maybe Hubris was that they thought they could get away with just 1 thumb stick for 3D games and had to create that circle pad expansion monstrosity that hooked up to the IR port. 

- The Wii U had a multitude of factors holding it back.

After the dust settled everyone pretty much agreed that it was the name and branding that held it back more than anything. The fact that they had to quickly issue comparison sheets to retailers in between release and Christmas already showed there was something seriously wrong with the branding. Nintendo focused so much on the GamePad that they didn't show the system at all and thus all the normies thought it was just another Wii peripheral. The same Wii U Draw tablet they had returned earlier that bankrupted THQ. It wouldn't have fixed all the systems problems but it would've prevented it from being dead in the water the day after release. They could've sold twice as much in the first 6 months had they called it Nintendo GamePad or whatever.

All of this Stellar Blade talk has really shown me that people who can't see the difference between Eve and any "sexy" protagonist that has a personality, story importance, character growth, good modeling, and an animation team that gives a darn are really telling on themselves because they don't see women as being fully human in the first place.

It really feels like real life and the internet are far more hostile to AFAB people in general in a post Roe v Wade world. Turns out if you make being something illegal/strip someone of their human rights, it makes it easier for bigots to justify their bigotry. Or at least it seems that way to me. Absolutely shuddering at this current right wing/fascist push to make birth control illegal as well.

Yeah, that's the thing I don't think many really grasp about The Bire or the general critique of the way they do things. Only if you hold that there's One Correct Way of being "leftist" or whatever can this be true. And that's an inherently totalitarian position.

They're people who can't defend their positions so resort to calling the cops on anyone who disagrees. That kind of culture will always attract people who only have an interest in abusing the dynamics to feel like they have power over others.

Having grown up in an extremely rural area, there's a lot people on the outside get right and get wrong.

First and foremost, it's extremely xenophobic - and also very suspicious -to mostly anyone new trying to enter the community.
That has a wide ranging ripple effect that you can see many other -isms come from.

Second, maintaining their social bubble is extremely important - wherever the bubble goes, you go, if you want to stay in the good graces of all your neighbors...who are your only social connections and support system for many miles around. The bubble also means they are not exposed to much beyond their typical life experiences.

Combine that with the xenophobic proclivities, somewhat low level of education (depending on the area), and...well...you can probably see where that's going.
Conspiracy theories run rampant, unchecked, often in the name of social cohesion.
It's an absolute mess.

The truth is, in my experiences, most of them are rather scared individuals who seem to always find something to fear, despite the fact they live in an incredibly safe area.
There always has to be some sort of antagonist for them to fight against. However, they are also generally quite cowardly - lets be real, they're generally just farmers that want to be left alone to live their very small life.

Despite everything after season 1, I enjoyed Westworld enough to see what they do with Fallout. Still, I agree with the sentiment. Best not to be obsessive or spiteful about this stuff.
