I liked when Arkham Asylum/City did it and it lasted the entire game and only got worse as the night progressed.

That's funny, I actually hated that. Arkham Knight is probably my favorite PS4 game, I've beaten it like 20 times, but I haven't played through a single time with the default suit because I hate the progressive damage.

(It was especially annoying in Asylum when only the left side of his cape got torn up for some reason).

In other words, Series X is not their focus.

Looks like the price cut worked for PS5 in Europe. Switch sales still up but it seems like the Zelda boost has faded.
Xbox continues to drop.

Well yes, I've heard some casual friends saying they want one. I told them to get the X but they just want something cheap.

Pretty stupid if you ask me but it's not my money

Passed out waiting for CP2077 to finish updating last night. Guess I'll play it after work tonight. Hoping the 30 fps quality mode is as smooth as Starfield. I like having extra pedestrians in the game.

Some good news for Xbox, looks like the Activision/Blizzard merger can move ahead now that the UK is ready to approve it.

Meanwhile Konomi struggles to port games from over 20 years ago.

It probably has more to do with the logic of the game breaking when you run it at 60fps.
A lot of old games sort of had animations capped at certain framerates and such, sometimes as recent as the GameCube days.

If you play Tales of Symphonia at 60fps the animation system of the game completely spazzes out  lol

How the fuck is Switch not at 60fps... The MGS HD collection on PS3/360 runs at 60.

What is interesting about the new way they present Cyberpunk 2077 is that they stopped to try and make it an imperfect immersive sim where you could pick paths.
Instead they just doubled down on the action both when it comes to perks as well as the gameplay. It suits the game better and gives the player a clear focus.
You no longer have to worry if blowing shit up fits your character or path because it always does.

It’s a Vita reference.

This DLC is so good, holy shit Capgods stay winning.

There's a new weather effect which is just insane and reminds me of the storms it had on the GameCube.
Hopefully they don't patch it out because you lose like 10fps or 20fps whenever it hits.

Mortal Kombat 1 is a winner.

I love the stupid Mortal Kombat story like my first born son.

It's also 10/10 gorgeous.

Scott gives up. He simply can't compete with Nvidia. It's insane how they leapfrogged everyone.

Kamiya leaves Platinum Games.

If I had to guess the company wanted to do more 'safe' projects with Nintendo as one of Nintendo's execs was hired in 2022 to run the company.
Square Enix wanting to 'upgrade' more IP's to AAA+ status is likely another big opportunity for them at the expense of Project GG or something else Kamiya was working on.

I wonder if Nintendo will buy Platinum Games, because it's probably cheap, unwilling to work with Microsoft and has no ties to Sony.

Yeah. Almost certainly a non-future-proofed bit of code that messes up the game.

Something fun about the Duckstation emulator. You can assign a hot key to overclock the PS1 1000%. As it’s a reasonably accurate emulator, at stock it has the choppy performance and frame drops of a real PS1. When boosted, depending on the game, it hits the frame cap smoothly or it’ll turn into Koyaanisqatsi with everything playing 10x faster.

Disney Speedstorm is out today, F2P Kart Racer with Disney crap from decent developer. The early closed beta was okay, but apparently they've really worked on it (it was pay for early access for some time) though still has lots of microtransaction stuff in it obviously. Might check it out this weekend if I do will report back, and hey, free is free.
