Trust me, I'm a doctor. SCIENCE!

If there's one thing I've learned about women while reading Resetera it's that they really, really, really need a bunch of men to tell them what's best for them.

I have it on good authority (mine) that every male suicide was actually a trans woman who died because the NHLS didn't give free cock chopping services.

actually the scant info the "whistleblowers" shared apparently says it's from people awaiting gender-affirming care, which could mean that past data doesn't account for people who received the care and then went on to die for various reasons afterward (they'd no longer be on that waiting list, Tavistock wipes their hands of the situation and declares the patient solved and on their own)

Remember when they were subscribing to all kinds of shit to fight fascism? I remember a thread full of dopes on NeoGAF.com signing up for extended subscriptions to the NYT, now it's the spear of the fascist transphobic assault by the white cishets.

how fucking stupid do you have to be to subscribe to any website for any reason, especially fucking news

why would you pay to read some article that says "here's how the debate went" when there are 5 million places to read or watch how the debate went that don't involve paying anyone anything

I say leave them up there for as long as they and their toadies below aren’t impeding the business or the public.  If they try and do either, have the police toss up some tear gas and let these idiots have fun dealing with that.

Quote:and Destiny said literally everything you said above, about how we should let countries do whatever they're best at to benefit everyone, it's retarded to artificially punish one to let another catch up when they're not equipped for it, not to mention those kinds of jobs can't pay the cost of living in the US anymore while still being competitive globally

his weird off the cuff example was if you have two kids, one is good at making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and the other is good at pouring milk, why would you punish one kid just to let the other catch up in their abilities at the other job when they already had their own specialization and role they could fill

This sounds good in theory in an economic textbook by people like Larry Summers or N Gregory Mankiw, but in practice the "specialization" other countries like China offer is using slave labor and shit conditions to undercut prices to the point that much manufacturing in America is no longer economically viable. It also results in propping up illegitimate regimes such as the CCP and, when combined with de facto open borders in America, it results in us having fewer competitive businesses, fewer good jobs, and an overall lower standard of living that will be even worse for our kids and grandkids.

Do Not Want

Manufacturing in the US isn't 'economically viable' because its a shit job that people don't want to do, with shit margins, and is never going to be a huge employer because the world has moved on and those jobs are almost entirely replaced by robots.

When manufaturing was A Big Deal, 25% of the fucking workforce worked in factories. There is zero fucking chance that's ever rolling back. If you fuck around with global commerce to try and force manufacturing to be a thing, you're still not getting that 25% of the working population in a factory, because you're still just counting the days until the factory owner can automate the whole fucking thing and make more money.
You're also not gonna convince school drop out and people with no employable skill sets to do those jobs, when they could make the equivalent delivering take out to fatty shut ins for a lot less fucking effort.
The only people who would do shitty lowest paid option potential injury on job sweatshop factory work at a cost where its not just worth it to buy a fucking robotic assembly line are people desperate for anything with no other employment routes, ie illegal immigrants which you seem against in principle anyway.

Yes, automation is also a factor driving down wages/opportunities in those jobs. It doesn't change the fact that globalization and third world labor practices were/are a factor in turning those jobs into "shit jobs that no one wants to do because they don't pay good enough."  Nor is anyone saying American manufacturing is going to return to its highs; the train has obviously already left the station on that one just like it has on the idea of nipping the CCP in the bud.

Regarding the blue collar jobs in America that still exist because they either can't or shouldn't be outsourced, there would be more people in America "willing to do these jobs" if the wage rates for said "shit jobs" weren't depressed as a result of the labor supply being boosted by our government letting in millions of desperate people every year. But you and others are welcome to disagree about whether this is good for our country or not.

There has been something that has been bothering me the past months ever since Delicious in Dungeon became popular and in the past few weeks has been really irking me; the automatic assumption that Laios MUST be autistic because he's weird and quirky and that this assumption gets treated as his only defining trait by some of the fandom. I don't like it, I don't like idea that Autistic people can only be defined by their Autism or othered because of it or that only men can autistic or that characters can only be autistic if they fit the preconceived stereotypes. To me, all of the main cast can be read as Autistic, including Falin or Marcille yet that can't be in fans eyes because of the "Women can't be Autistic!" myth and in the topic of this thread, Chilchuck can't be in people's eyes because he's deemed too "cool" and Autistic people can't be considered that.

And this is something that really irks me when I see non-Autistic people diagnosing fictional characters; they always determine that weird and quirky characters are Autistic, never the ones that are deemed cool, badarse or "normal". It's frustrating seeing people be surprised to learn that Symmetra from Overwatch is canonly Autistic because she's deemed too cool and not weird enough in their eyes.

And like why? Why do Autistic people in fiction have be weird and quirky and why are only the weird and quirky ones determined to be Autistic to fandoms? Why are Autistic people in fiction judge based on how weird and quirky they are over any other traits of feats they've accomplished? Why is it so hard for people to understand that Autistic people can be very different and varied like anyone else, we don't all fit a single stereotype or act the same.
