So I work in DEI we are having to avoid certain terms now. Like we're having to avoid words like diversity and be a bit more tactical with the terms we use. Same with projects we use terms more like to expand our potential work force rather than minorities or underrepresented groups. Job titles are changing but we're still doing the same jobs we just can't be that overt.

Maybe a controversial take. I think there’s some value, conceptually. I’ve been in meetings explaining very basic ideas of in-group vs put-group preferences. The concept of supporting out-groups was surprisingly difficult for some to grasp. Although, surprisingly or unsurprisingly, not from the straight white guys. They spoke to an older man originally from India about why over his decades long career he only supported and mentored other men from India. I don’t know if there’s anything wrong with that but being aware of biases and such is fine.

In practice, after these past couple years, not seeing much benefit outside of charlatans gaming the system, it’s understandable why some are disillusioned. True DEI has never been tried.

Something wild just happened with this.

So I ordered the whey and collagen a week ago as well at regular price so I thought let me go on to the Amazon chat support and see if they can give me a credit for the difference, which was over $20 difference. The guy ended up just giving me a refund for the whole order which was $95. I even asked… bro are you sure? I just want the $20 difference and asked if my account could get in trouble for this? He was like nah dude (not in that exact language 😄) you won't. He said he can't give credit like that on his end, only full refund. I felt bad tbh but I accepted.
