- You can be trans and perv over men and women as much as you like without being banned
- You can write about sex parties and going to gangbangs, as long as it's male orgies without being banned
- You can be a human cum-dumpster like MIMIC or Fat4All, making dozens of threads and posts about getting your ass ploughed by some random dude from Grindr, also without ever being banned

But the one thing guaranteed to get you banned is being a man and posting about having sex with a woman, with the reason almost always being 'misogyny'

There was a topic about liking sexy women and it was promptly locked with a mod (or admin) saying "can we not do this shit". Some bans were given out, because of course. Then, when a similar topic that was pretty much the gay/male equivalent opened up, someone said "hey, but why was the straight male equivalent of this thread locked"? He got banned and a moderator said some garbage like "women are always oppressed and seen as sex objects in this patriarchal culture. It's not the same"

When I was writing reviews I refused to do numerical scores because I think it doesn't make logical sense to try and sum an entire opinion of a whole game up in one single number. I tried to put a little block at the bottom that was kinda like "you might want to buy this if X, you might want to rent this if X, and you might want to skip this if X" as my summary but I really think reviews only work when you read the whole text instead of laser-focusing on a "magic number".

If Star Wars Outlaws starred a man instead of a woman would they be this eager to defend it? It’s a boilerplate Ubisoft game with a ton of bugs. Not the best hill to die on.

I said this before but Ubisoft lost the plot somewhere. I don't know what happened but their shit has regressed while the budgets seemingly keep going up. This is their big ass flagship title, more money spend on PR than any other Ubisoft title and then you get absolutely butchered looking characters with frozen faces

Just for context, it appears the "week long activist campaign" amounted to 5-10 negative reviews from people concerned about his initial response…

Whilst this sounds insignificant, it likely did impact the recent reviews score from (IIRC) a very positive, to a mixed score.

That being said, a tiny handful of people running with negative reviews against a disappointing response should not result in a nuclear explosion of you deferring to literal Nazi fucks & courting their hateful rhetoric and cash.

I fully expect, & hope, that a bunch of these will inevitably refund once they've "done their job" and this idiot will realise he's as expendable to them as any other piece of shit.

most of the rhetoric in the reviews is basically "glad to see you stand your ground against bullies" or "make the game you want to make and screw the haters" kind of stuff, you can argue that this is sooper sekrit code for "gays deserve death" but it's literally not hateful, it's generally very positive and supportive

like can era even point to a specific "literal Nazi fuck" at steam who's crowing about this?
