According to Summy Ullah, an employee of the gas station's adjoining Bolla Market, Sibley and his friends were approached by a group of men who claimed the flamboyant behavior offended their Muslim faith.

That because he was progressive in his views on race,gender etc. it was too unrealistic for someone at that time to have those views. Was this really a complaint by people, even if we grant it. Arthur grew up in a virtual commune under an idealistic, prophetic thinker it’s not unrealistic to think he would have views outside the norm. And even then, their were moments where he still showed naively and ignorance about certain issues. He was still a white man born in a certain time. Like for example his treatment towards the German family etc.

The people making this argument may not be doing it in ~good faith~, but there's nothing wrong with this criticism. Arthur is a great character but Rockstar purposely gave him essentially zero flaws so they wouldn't have to bother with making him nuanced lest the game be labeled as "racist" by twitter wokies and Resetera users for having a realistic 1800s white male.
