Just 2 weeks ago, hundreds of prisoners were released early from their sentences just to free up spaces.

Even then, when you go to court, and there is overwhelming evidence you're guilty, the Judge will take mitigating circumstances into account. Example: pleading guilty at the first opportunity will knock many months off your potential sentence. Apologising, recognising you have done wrong, etc, etc... Most of the time, when found guilty, and it's your first time offence, you'll usually be given a suspended sentence and very rarely will it be custodial (prison) unless it's for something serious like murder, or you are a repeat offender who is constantly getting in trouble with the law.

These Just Stop Oil fucko's have done NONE of that.

He has all the wall-running/wall-jumping/somersaulting gymnastic flair of other contemporary games like Prince of Persia, but instead of having to press a multitude of different triggers and buttons, he just does them. You run along a wall and jump, he starts wall running. You run towards a wall and jump, he runs up it. If two walls are opposite to each other, he can just keep jumping between them all the way up. It's like seeing all the wire-gymnastics of a martial arts film like Crouching Tiger, except you get to do it.

What the fuck is the Judge supposed to do when they admit the crime and show no remorse or regret for their actions? Say "It's awwwww-right, you can go free"

These Just Stop Oil morons had every single opportunity to go free. The UK legal system is often very lenient. It's their idiocy and arrogance that's seen them end up behind bars.

But, hey, at least Nepenthe approves of their actions. So it was all worth it for that much.
