Here's where the tweet thread was posted. As mentioned there was some kind of furry thing about whether or not your fursona should be able to have dreadlocks or whatever if you ain't Black, I assume that part of the furry community took the position that fursonas should able to have whatever you want which Nepenthe could not allow. She posted these all as individual tweets, lots of furries were arguing with them or mocking them. I just saved all the images to present it as a single page. Her replies to the others seem to still be up.

We were rewatching Ted Lasso and it's the episode Rebecca deals with her mom and Nate gets his nickname. In the episode one of the primary contrasts is her deepening flirtatious texting over Bantr with the guy she has genuine interest in versus her calling over hunky dude for one night bangers. This got me looking into modern dating rules and I think I can wrap my dumb ass brain around the idea of non-exclusive until the talk idea (this doesn't really have anything to do with the Ted Lasso episode, that was just the thing that got me thinking).

That said...if you're talking to someone and you bang other people before you become exclusive, don't you owe it to that person to be honest about it for their own safety? That and having respect for their feelings. Or is that moot before officially becoming exclusive? Feels weird. On one hand since they aren't official yet there's nothing wrong per say if one party is having casual flings while courting the other (or both if the other one is too) but in this scenario they should both then be open and honest about what they're doing while said flirting happens right? Or is it none of each other's business until they actually get together? Or is it none of each other's business ever? Since they aren't exclusive yet, is there no obligation to notify of their sexual activity?

So like say party A has several flings while in a non-exclusive state with party B, are they obligated to let party B know about said flings? I feel like party B has the right to know, but they're not exclusive so maybe they don't? But I feel like that would be information you would want to know if you're courting someone. Then again maybe not. Maybe as long as party B knows that party A chose them in the end they should be content. But I feel like there's a safety issue there too, regarding STDs. Maybe party A is diligent about getting tested and both parties agree to testing before sex or something. This shit is wild. If I was still single I'd be like 'okay so while we're dating let's both agree not to see other people' right after the first date lol

Until you both have committed to being exclusive, assume they could be seeing other people, whether just dating or hooking up. And it's fine. When I was dating, I might be going out with more than one person at a time. Not hooking up or anything, just going on dates. When you have the choice, why not find out who's most compatible? I didn't want to focus all my energy on one person, until maybe a couple of dates in when I knew it was working. There was maybe one or two people who got bothered I did that in the very early stages if they asked about it and I was honest, even when we were just talking and hadn't been on a date, so I'd unmatch with them.
