Because it's like, Black scientology islam that he's into. There were a few different groups of them recruiting in New York when the likes of Chapelle and a few other east coast personalities made it big (RZA was in one for a while iirc)

i'd like to point out that nep is still posting updates about her covid struggle*
*struggle has been described as "like a cold" without any of the serious shit that millions of people endured
she's been self-quarantining for a few days, good and responsible. but of course it comes with sad gifs, acting like she hasn't seen civilization for months
ppl have gently brought up that her case sounds incredibly mild, but think about how she would respond to a thread like this. we'd be hearing how the op should recognize their privilege, how the oppressed don't have the luxury of staying home and playing steam all day and so on
like, we all know she's a narcissist. the constant condescension, staying on staff for a site whose userbase she hates and distrusts because it lets her have power over others, the whole thing. but making a thread for this shit is a perfect encapsulation of it
and yeah, i'm still stuck on "passing my food to me like an inmate". think how quickly she'd berate someone for "insensitivity to the plight of those currently trapped in the broken american justice system" for a comment like that

What a stupid retarded take.
"as the leadership of a site that exists to make money, we now have the opportunity to get articles written practically instantly with fewer textual errors and grammatical issues, for free. now, we WOULD normally pass up on this amazing shift in global industry, but a minor forgotten event from 9 years ago has convinced us that our readers don't like our writers, so we have no alternative but to take advantage of this incredible gift"
I wish I mentally unstable enough to think I live in a world where I'm constantly on the verge of being humiliated or killed like transera.
It's not fair.. I want to feel special too.

After condemning Hamas’ attack, Chappelle reportedly criticized Israel for restricting access to water in Gaza, arguing that two wrongs don’t make a right. Chappelle sparred with audience members at the TD Garden show, some of whom left.
Chappelle, through a spokesperson, told the Journal that he “denies being in Boston last night.”

Gaming journalists...those are the same people who have been consistently caught out reviewing games without playing them properly, phoning in press releases as "articles", and taking free shit and going on junkets for favorable coverage right?
Why would anyone mourn their being replaced by shitty AI articles?

I understand where you are coming from and can appreciate your perspective. It can be frustrating to interact with certain individuals online who may not contribute much value to the conversations or may even be disruptive. In this fast-paced digital age, AI has certainly proven useful in many domains, including automated moderation, content filtering, and even generating responses. However, it is important to note that AI should not be seen as a complete replacement for human interaction. While AI can perform certain tasks effectively, it lacks the ability to empathize, understand complex emotions, and provide the same level of genuine connection that humans are capable of. Each individual brings unique experiences, knowledge, and perspectives to discussions, and this diversity can lead to richer and more engaging conversations. Instead of completely replacing posters with AI, perhaps a more balanced approach could involve using AI for specific tasks, such as identifying and addressing harmful content, while still allowing human contributors to promote creativity, critical thinking, and authentic engagement.

I mean this is so pathetic, and typical, of Trump.
Nope - from Benedict Arnold until Trump, America's secrets have never been leaked for cash
https://www.resetera.com/threads/nytimes-a-president-a-billionaire-and-questions-about-access-and-national-security.777389/post-113819123
Also, the thread is hilarious because basically no one read the article until page 4, when this person posts.
Quote:Look, Trump sucks ass, but I don't actually see anything in the article where it says he was selling secrets as the thread title suggests? There's the nuclear submarine armament leak getting printed again, which is bad of course and was post presidency, but everything else secret information wise seems to just be running his mouth when he was President, which it seems like he was allowed to do. The rest of it is just standard rich people doing favors for each other crap. If I missed a paragraph or something please point it out, but I'd think that'd be a bigger deal than it being buried in a story where that isn't the lead.
They changed the thread title because it had said something about Trump "selling secrets".
The establishment will learn that they should have left well enough alone.

Also hilarious due to the fact that the article really doesn't seem that awful, it's just people reacting to the old thread title. This fucker has time to respond to The Last Jedi threads with 20,000 word essays but can't read this NYT article?

echoshifting wrote:I always wear cologne. I wear it when I go to the grocery store, or pharmacy, or dog groomer. I have a great cologne that suits me. I have been complimented on it many times - how it complements my natural scent. My ex-boyfriend was crazy about it. I have had women ask me what it is so they can tell their boyfriends to wear it.
I know how to put it on - right after the shower, pulse lines, at the correct distance. Not too much. It's a nice cologne. Expensive.
Anyway. I was just invited to Thanksgiving dinner by a friend. I was very grateful for the invite; I love my friend and I had no plans. But the invite came with a request from her parents - "as long as he doesn't wear any cologne." My friend assures me - her parents are rural and just not accustomed to that stuff. Fair enough.
I'm not offended, only startled and bemused. I'm excited for the dinner but will feel naked. I have encountered this issue in medical settings but never at a holiday dinner. I already set a calendar note to not put any cologne on that day, but am afraid I will not see it and have to shower again because I accidentally applied cologne (it's the first thing I do after drying off). But like...once you put it on that's kind of how it is for the day, rinse or no, I might have to smoke a cigarette to counter it at that point? I'm going to be worried about this for a month. I'm concerned.
Has this happened to anyone else here?
Okay, let's hear the feedback on my normal thread.
The world doesn't revolve around you. Maybe the scent of cologne is triggering.
"I have had women ask me what it is so they can tell their boyfriends to wear it." I'd bet money that it was women trying to make small talk during an awkward situation.
Not wearing any cologne is a small sacrifice you can make to hold these Nazis accountable at the table for supporting/ignoring the genocide.
Fox News is airing this on national tv this week and y’all are still trying to deny there’s a genocide going on?!?
I’m just so tired.
