She used a racial slur for Asians I can't find the topic right now but I remember people saying it wasn't a big deal here while some of the Asian American members ended up leaving because they felt completely upset and ignored. I argue if she is just simply apologize for it it probably wouldn't have gone anywhere but by the time Twitter did what it did it was already main character syndrome.

I completely agree with her decision just eliminate Twitter at that point looking back it was probably for the best.

About 20.000 children have been taken from Ukraine to Russia without consent of their parents. And that's not even talking about all the people that have been killed by Russia. 
Comparing atrocities isn't a fruitful argument, but yes, on a numbers level the Ukraine war is worse

Fact is, you provide a platform for a character like that to come on TV every week and spew bigoted garbage, even if the intent is to show him up for a buffoon, bigots in the audience are going to completely overlook the critique and champion the character that gets to broadcast his hateful views weeks after week to millions of people. I have unfortunately known countless Conservatives who hold him up as a hero to this day.

It's the reason why this new movie showcasing a "fictionalized" Donald Trump character is so irresponsible. Chuds won't like the negative angle the movie will no doubt put on him, but they'll be willing to put up with that because it glamorizes their evil God Emperor onscreen, providing him a platform to hit his usual beloved bits.

So I was in a 'discussion' and the topics of the Confederacy and the Holocaust came up.

Anyway at one point someone brought up how they felt like the Confederates are bad but a lot better than Nazis and went on to say this was because under Nazism what happens is death and while black people in the Confederacy face a hellish life of slavery and torture it isn't absolute in the end and reversible like death was.


My reaction as you can imagine was one of disbelief and when I replied with "dude wtf, you did not just make that comparision and that the person who said this doesn't understand the horrors of slavery'

someone else then accussed me of thinking that slavery was worse than the Holocaust and my comments clearly communicated that. When I brought up that none of what I said even implies that in the slightest I was told that "I didn't say that they were equal" as a response and instead of being so hostile to the person making the initial comments and accussing them of racism I should have just calmly informed them why what they said was insensitive and hurtful as "There are absolutely superficial reasons why somebody might assume slavery was lesser than the holocaust. In the same way, I think there are superficial reasons why somebody might assume the holocaust was lesser than slavery. They are incorrect and uninformed, but on the face of it, it is not wild that somebody might think one is worse than the other if they've never put much thought into it"

It's amazing and sad how these people are so terrified of ideas, characters, or themes getting any sort of media portrayal that they don't approve of. Like, they really do believe the general public is just a movie/tv show away from going full "Heil Hitler." It's silly.
