In my opinion, the problem is that the discussion quickly becomes marred by people being very judgmental and throwing thinly veiled insults at Tesla owners. I've seen people accused of astroturfing when their opinion didn't match the majority's (e.g. those liking the Cybertruck). More often than not, praising the Tesla vehicles is equivalenced with praising Musk and Tesla as a company. In another thread, Tesla was deemed the "car for assholes". Owners are "brainwashed" and "drinking Musk koolaid". And so on. It's rarely a discussion; it's usually a pile up, because people know they can get away with it.

You do the fucking good thing in life and you just get fucked for it. Why should anyone every report hitting someone's car even if it's a little scratch or dent. Fucking insurance incentivizes not reporting this shit, it incentivizes not doing the right thing.

I had to make this rant cause this thoroughly pissed me off.

Long story short my husband hit a deer way earlier this year, they have Allstate, they have comprehensive insurance cause buying the car required it. The deer ran into him, he didn't hit anyone else, just the deer but it fucked up the front of the car and needed repairs.

Back in Sept or Aug at my husband's work when they were getting out of their car the wind was very strong that day and pulled the car door out of his hand and slightly dinged the car beside him. Now he did the right thing and tracked down who's car it was and offered to pay for the damage. The guy got an estimate and it was over 1k for a tiny fucking ding on a door. Ok whatever, have to let insurance handle as we can't afford that.

Here we find out this month his rate went up $70 fucking a month. We call them and they say oh well the deer accident used up your accident forgiveness even though it was an act of god and that takes 3 years before it comes back so that little ding on the door is gonna now cost you an extra $70 a month.

I don't ever want to report shit now. Like HOW DO YOU HAVE A SYSTEM THAT INCENTIVIZES BEING THAT ASSHOLE????

Went from paying $177 a month to over $300 from that nonsense...along with having to pay an upfront deductible to get my car fixed at the recommended shop. Why the fuck am I paying you money every month for years if, when I am in a no fault accident, you're just gonna fuck me over anyway?

That and some of them being baffled as to why others aren’t thrilled Insomniac is seemingly being turned into a Marvel studio until at least 2030.

Hey if you're expecting innovation from a mass market Marvel game then...I don't know what to tell you. Almost every Marvel game in recent memory has been "similar to some other game except marvel this time". All of them.

I don’t think they quite get it. People who aren’t remotely rich work at these giant corporations, from the people making the games, to the ones putting together these marketing strategies. Those are the little guys you all claim to care about and demand companies stop forcing them to crunch to finish. 

They really seem to think the suits at the very top we see on TV just push a button and all the work the little guys really do is done in an instant. 

Cue the outrage and condolences over the next round of layoffs though.

I feel bad about devs not being able to show their work at it's best but the games industry is too veiled in paranoia levels of secrecy and bullshit so ultimately I don't really care that much.
Leaking personal info of developers, however, is completely fucked.

The original tweet making fun of the video was pretty inoccuous IMO. But the issue these large accounts continue to run into is that their audience will always run wild and take these things too fucking far. JoCat's followers did the same to the original user that thought his clip was cringe. Death threats, transphobia, all the hits. And even though the psychos are a fringe minority, it isn't gonna feel that way to the person on the receiving end of the vitriol.
