The disappointing thing about Persona is that the franchise could be so cool if it wasn't handled by people who aren't far removed by having the world views of a 13 year old.

I just don't understand how these people are all such abject fucking failures.

I also don't understand how they can't manage to figure out affordable means of entertainment in the year 2024. Epic gives you 1 or 2 free games every week and has been doing so for years at this point. I just checked, I have 467 games on EGS and I have spent a total of like $20 on the THPS remake. Free games still get handed out every now and then on Steam. 6 of the top 10 most popular games right now on Steam are Free to Play.

Libraries exist. Every book ever written in the history of mankind is free. There are like 10 different free ad-supported streaming services for movies and TV. Spotify and Pandora exist. Internet radio exists. Regular fucking radio exists.

You could easily spend an entire lifetime consuming media in your spare time and not spend a single fucking dollar on it and still have an embarrassment of options to spend your time with.

Beyond the entertainment shit, it's like every last one of them is so fucking lazy that the mere concept of existing as an adult is too much for them to handle. Your parents think you're a mentally ill queer because your pronouns are plurals? Move out you dumb attention-grabbing whore, you're clearly not getting the right type of it at home. Find one of your utopian communist co-ops you sperg out so much about and live with your fellow 21st century hippie morons. Meat is murder and you're not an enabler of climate change so rice and beans will do you just fine.

Can't afford rent? Find roommates. I just checked and even most fast food chains offer health and dental. Need a phone? Congrats, you can buy cheap phones that aren't $1000 iphones for $100 that will function as a phone and basic internet tool. You can supplement that with a basic Google Fi subscription for $30 instead of paying Verizon $100 for unlimited porn downloads over 5G. Don't have a car? You can walk two hours to and from work, or buy a bicycle until you can afford a 10-15 year old used Honda or Toyota that will do the trick. Every one of these is a bottom of the barrel solution to bottom of the barrel problems. Their real issue is that they want $1000 graphics cards, $300 anime figurines, and $300 in subscription services while not being fucked to even stock shelves at a Target. 

Late stage capitalism indeed.

Case in point; Stellar Blade. To say they were massively pushing that game would be an understatement. Between the studios' statement regarding anti-censorship and the chuds' constant praise and support, you'd think this had all the makings of a huge success. I was even saying people claiming to have pre-ordered copies without even owning a PS5 or buying a second copy just to make a statement.

But then the day one patch was released and it all went off the rails. Chuds were turning on one another with one camp heavily against the changes and canceling their pre-orders and the other camp insisting that it was all Sony's support and that the game should still be supported. What we were left with was a game that took two months to break one-million sales (and that's the only sales figure we have ever received) and wasn't even uncensored as promised. So when Black Myth Wukong came along and did everything the chuds wanted and had the massive sales numbers to prop it up, Stellar Blade was old news.

While I wouldn't necessarily call Stellar Blade a "failure" financially, it did ultimately fumble at the finish line and didn't deliver on what the chuds wanted. You had a brief period where people like Grummz and Endymion who tried their best to spin it in a way that the game was still worth playing, but fast forward a few months, and even they weren't acknowledging it as much anymore. Definitely wasn't the outcome I expected given how strong the support was leading up to launch. But between all of that and a game that had great gameplay but not as "stellar" writing for it's story or characters, it's not surprising in retrospect
