I dunno how happy is EA that the last game from BioWare is strongly associated with the TransMovement, specially because companies are losing the patience with DEI initiatives. 

It didn’t have to this way, I think people have mentioned that Space Marine 2 was written by a trans person, and people like that game.

Generally I imagine they'll really question what's the point of it is. For years one big argument by activists has been that when you add more inclusivity that you'll get more customers but that has pretty much proven to be untrue by now. At least not with their understanding of inclusivity which often means removing something the core fan base liked. 
Space Marine 2 certainly did it right in that regard.

UPDATE 4pm UK: Dragon Age game director Corinne Busche has now confirmed her departure from BioWare and EA in a statement to Eurogamer.

In it, Busche said she had left the studio for a new post elsewhere, after being offered an oppurtunity to build a fresh RPG she "couldn't turn down".

"At the heart of it, this was about my own fulfillment," Busche told Eurogamer. "I did what I set out to do at BioWare. That is to come in and help right the ship. I love Dragon Age, and BioWare, so the chance to return the game to a proper quality single player RPG was the privilege of a lifetime.

"It was hard fought, as games with such tumultuous dev cycles rarely end up shipping, and even more rarely turn out great. We, as a team, did it. And it was hard. It took a toll on me. BioWare still has a lot of work to do culturally, but I do believe they are on the right footing now.

Having worked in the multicultural space what these nincompoops don't seem to understand is that the diversity in DEI doesn't mean "make it black and gay" it means attracting a diversity of thought to the workplace. 

That's where the money is because it facilitates innovative thought by ensuring alternative ideas and approaches are tested rather than just hiring the same personality type over and over and getting the same ideas.

I've been thinking about making a thread about what we (we meaning cis people on the left) can do to help trans acceptance, because things are not going well on that front in the US frankly.

The big problem is the question has gotten focused on these two wedge issues which are either complicated and feel bad if you don't know the science, women's sports, or are incredibly incredibly rare for gender affirming youth. The narrative is now full focused on stuff that is incredibly fractional to the trans experience becuase it's the most divisive topics.

Two things I'm really loving about this cultural exchange:

1) The number of Americans who are finding out that a lot of the bad things they were taught to believe about China and Chinese people are lies, and that the U.S.A. isn't the best place in the world, not even close, in many aspects.

2) The number of people in China who are finding out how a lot of the things they have heard about life in America that are so bad that they themselves suspect it's not true but Chinese government propaganda made up to make America look bad actually are true, like the cost of medical care and the frequency of gun violence and mass shootings!

The reality that TikTok might come back under a Trump administration if the ban is somehow reversed (because ByteDance isn't selling) is a basic fact that has nothing to do with one's personal feelings about Trump.

Prompted by the TikTok ban and how the CEO is openly praising Trump for being willing to work with them which will certainly turn the Gen Z vote more red in the coming years. But, in all honesty, for quite a while I feel like I've been watching democrats make just completely obvious mistakes in messaging and optics for no discernible reason. Kamala made quite a few flubs for example, though I hoped it would work out but here we are. A lot went wrong with Biden and his decisions and the press around him/them.

It's hard to believe that they can really be this bad at messaging and optics. And I'm starting to wonder, are they really? Are they really, truly?

It can't be reversed until a new bill is put forward. An American company or billionaire will end up buying it after Trump's 90-day extension.
