I don't get the hype at all tbh- Bethesda games always feel like dull, janky shit.  It takes modders to make them good. Doge

They offer player agency and freedom in a way no other developer makes games. Your not railroaded into missions and forced to complete them one way or another. If you wanna take on a mission then fuck off and do a million other things you can. Wanna kill all the npc's? You can (for the most part). You can play however you want and do what you want to do. Want to skip the main quest and just do the interesting faction stuff? Do whatever

For all the shitting on Rockstars 'philosophy' and that dumbass clip of that guy on his ball sitting talking about how R* games need to change, Bethesda gets none of the props. Or well, at least some of that has been forgotten.

Fallout 4 really wasn't that great, I wasnt a fan of the story nor did I like the voiced protag with a set backstory.
In terms of gameplay it wasnt bad perse but the city itself is indeed dull to explore, nothing interesting.

If you just imagine Oblivion in space, I dont get why you would think anything less of it.

Its not a fucking space sim its Space Skyrim. Like Mass Effect but 10x more elaborate. Thats how I see it.

Can’t wait for Friday. I’m going to post screenshots just to noise up all the Sony shit munchers. An MC score of 68 would be the absolute icing on the cake though. Imagine 400 glorious pages of ree meltdown and cope.

I don't need an explanation.  I've played Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, and a couple of Fallouts.  They all got pretty boring quick.

I don't

If this is a better game, cool.  I'll wait and see what it looks like once people have it and the hype dies down.

The most fun I had was modding the shit out of the games and interest died out after that.  But the Macho Man Skyrim dragon mod will always be amazing.

Playing these games on consoles without access to all the mods lmao

Overall I trust Bethesda to deliver a good (if janky) Starfield game because they have done that many times before.

I'm more worried about Microsoft Studios sanitizing the game for a 'global' audience, removing most of the flavor and leaving it rather dull.
Because that is what happens with nearly everything they touch and something Sam Lake alluded to as being the reason Remedy shopped around for different publishers instead.

We'll know soon enough but I expect the average score to land in the high 80 to low 90 range.

While everyone's going to be playing Starfield, I'll be trying to finish up Mass Effect: DE..

While everyone's going to be playing Baldurs Gate 3, I'll be trying to finish Dragon Age: Inquisition..

I'm broke and so behind on backlog..  Shaq

Kind of ironic in way, with Bioware literally about to crumble.

Why.

Are you nuts? That game is the most boring dreadful trash rpg I've ever played.

Sell those trash games and whatever body parts you need to buy either BG3 or Starfield.

What. Dragon Age Inquisition is absolute trash.

Literally one of the most boring games I ever had the non pleasure of playing.

Putting time in this sleep inducing game is your own choice ofcourse, but when this year alone 10 better games have released, I don't see why you would spend valuable time on this turd.

Quests are boring, battles are beyond tedious (I fought a dragon in the desert and it was the most boring combat encounter ever), exploring isnt fun because it isnt rewarded, getting quests from questgivers feel like your playing an MMO, the quest themselves are MMO light (find 10 rabbits foot). And the list goes on.

Its checklist game design.

And Bioware hasn't honestly made a good game in years. Andromeda was trash as well, as was Anthem.

Throw this garbage in the trash where it belongs and go play Baldurs Gate 3, an actual RPG with fun combat, interesting NPC's and fun dialogue.
Good combat and well written side quests. Dragon Age Inquisition honestly isn't worth your time.

Only thing that sparked it, was scrolling through my yt channel. And for some reason I saved several clips of when I played it some back then.  I didn't hate it (well, yeah I hated how armor equiping worked), but I was like, I should give it another try since they're attempting to bring the series back.
...
Sounds like that's not going to happen now, with Bioware hemoraging.

As for BG, I'd prefer to play through BG2 prior because of OCD, but that's probably not going to happen either.  Besides that, would prefer the PS5 one. Just really don't need another big game to add to the library ATM.

On a side note, he's my 'need to get back to eventually' backlog..

Horizon 2
Sekiro
Mass Effect: DE
Wanted: Dead
CP2077 (finished one play through)
Doom 2016
AC: Valhalla
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Stick of Truth

To name a few

Thats a lotta good games.

I wouldnt do another CP playtrough till the DLC is out with maybe a patch or two.

Sekiro is dope, but hard to beat.

DOOM is not that hard to beat, and not that long. Great game.
AC Valhalla, nah I wouldnt bother (personally, I liked Odyssey but became bored after 50hrs)
Kingdom Come is dope
stick of Truth is dope

but yea there are a lot of good games out at the moment if your not in a financial way to get any of them I wouldnt either.
My backlog is so huge I dont even look at it anymore. Over a 1000 games on Steam. TOTK half finished. Lmao fuck it

Gaming 'journalism'

havent played the game yet but here are my opinions based on ??? ???
The story seems like an afterthought (even though I havent seen more than a trailer)

How do these people get (and retain) their jobs?

I have not played Starfield yet and am only posting the opinions I've BEEN saying on other shitpost forums and on youtube comments for posterity now so we can see how I feel after Starfield launches and I get hands-on time in.

Again, these are my initial opinions.

Eh, it'll be alright.

Oh yeah...  TOTK. LMAO, totally forgot about it.  Add that to the list.  Awesome

Yeah, Phantom Liberty is why I put CP back on the list.  Wanted to do a Corpo run and hop into PL in the process.  I may prioritize Doom, because I need a shorter game to romp through.

Damn it, Bombrush is this weekend too.  Jfc what a year.  Whew

Microsoft: We’re adding Bethesda’s latest open world rpg to Game Pass at no additional price.

Sony: We’re adding nothing of value, give us $20 more a year.

Paying $80 a year for multiplayer

They're just matching Nintendo LOLine prices.. at least they offer some modern games with it too.

But yeah, I hope this will backfire on them... Either that or start dropping some heavy hitting Day Oners somehow.
Not holding my breath.

Yeah .. if they keep this up (which I'm sure they will) this is starting to show the dirty seems of this shit their creating..  PS was always, always the best bang for the buck, IMO, but when calculating this (a full gen cycle) vs say, a banging PC/laptop, this is almost making the $$ break even..

Bork's been trying to get me to drop PS for years and years now... And it will happen sooner than later, but probably sooner if they keep this shit up at such a shitty pace.
