Her whole story was subservient to his! What the hell are you going on about my dude. This is 100% fridging and has been discussed in depth by dozens of reviewers and people on this very forum. Your argument that because she wasn't important it's not fridging is weird as hell and suspect at best.

She had literally zero character development. She existed to die. By a broad definition that is fridging. But the actual trope refers to female characters that didn’t get an opportunity to have their own story because the writers decided to make something horrible happen to her as a plot device. Perrin’s wife didn’t have her story taken from her — it was never a story at all.

It’s not weird. It’s not suspect. I’m not denying a very real problem in media that harms the perception of women. I’m just not convinced this is the fridging hill worth dying on when there wasn’t a better way to address the problem of adapting Perrin.

I’m happy to be wrong — I can be convinced, but work with me. How do you tell Perrin’s story more effectively considering time and the medium? To me it feels like a necessary evil. If it’s not, I’d change my tune.

Ultimately, "the boss is bad" and "does anyone actually like it" are two different arguments. One's something you can make a case for and defend easily because what being bad is is a nebulous concept that can only be debated, whereas whether or not anyone likes it can be answered definitively the moment as single person says yes. It sounds dramatic to question whether people like something you don't, but it's a very weak thing to actually bring up since it's so easily taken down.

If you care that much about the subject to search that thread, quote it here and then pretend to call me out on the "supposed" status of it, maybe you should've posted a valid counter argument there instead of attempting to derail this thread.

I've got to be honest with you here, kiddo. I didn't think this Turtles in Time topic is worth arguing about to begin with. People liking a different version of the game isn't a big deal and there are valid arguments to be made either way. I didn't understand why SvC Chaos tracing was an issue since pointing out the tracing, and I don't know why you'd want to pretend otherwise unless you find it somehow offensive that SNK produced the game wile in dire financial straits and issues of the game's quality are not entirely in their control and not indicative of their talent. I also didn't think it was an interesting enough argument to hold a grudge about it.

Ultimately, I'm not interested enough in you to want to tear you down, so I don't care enough to try to provide any sort of further argument. You can go on claiming that you won this debate as you please.
