It's almost as if their ideology, which is purportedly an effort to see how varying degrees of discrimination intersect, is actually a caste/power ranking system and it's actually a two horse race for who is allowed to have an opinion or be represented.

from what I understand the "trans flag on the cop jacket" is actually his rank or medals or whatever which can be seen in other shots, but in that particular shot they reflect the light in a way to look like a trans flag, i.e. some animator just being cute

you can say that as a hero, you are forced to hide a part of yourself from the world and this can cause depression and angst, so it's part of the trans experience and possibly an allegory, but it's not actually being trans

After looking at this tweet, I think I've identified a problem with the his design that pretty much everyone can agree on...

This is not how dreads work, they don't just spring fully formed out of someone's shaved head. The more I look at this picture, the more it feels like his original design had just him rocking the fade but that a decision was made to give him longer hair or something because they kinda look glued on. Even the colors seem kinda different, but there's a lot of JPEG compression that seems to be affecting it.

My baseless hypothesis is that hairstyles like this are popular in games rn because it's easy to have them show off dynamic hair animation without worrying about it clipping. Or maybe they were worried about him being considered too generic, but I think a generic shaved protagonist look would be a lot more natural than this.

Of course, all of this is a nitpick since his hair is gonna be a few pixels during gameplay, but still.
