From the reactions it seems that The Marvels is a fun, light hearted popcorn film with some great action scenes and performances from the leads, but in the other thread folks are comparing it to Rise of Skywalker SMH.

This was SO FUN, it was a movie, projected a screen, wow, when you think about...it's amazing that humans produced this technology!! It's in the bottom 10% of everything that this franchise has produced and I often wondered why the film was making some of its seemingly pointless choices, but you know what, there were multiple - more than one! - moments where I said "Wait, this is pretty decent!"

So hey, it's a win, because I recognize the miraculous power of human ingenuity when it comes to making movies in the first place. Step off, haters.

In Ancient Greece (which they often purport to love) women had the hardest time of basically anywhere in the ancient world. The men took men (and little boys) as lovers, so the women were pure and simple baby factories or generational conflict leverage who had to be locked in the house and had zero civil or property rights. Their modesty was policed by force of death, and masculine and feminine was simply a matter of tops and bottoms. Sounds familiar tbf. The exception to the rule was Sparta, and elsewhere hellenistic society portrayed the Spartan women as base, masculine and degenerate.

Their 'progressive', 'left wing' crusade against reality has basically reverted to the mean of patriarchal misogyny, because they are wrangled by fuckwitted Americans with no actual understanding of basic left wing ideas like secularism and the fucking scientific method. Instead, like barbarians, it's all about saving face.

First Captain America film and quantamania are genuinely Bad.

First Cao film is amazing, so no idea what you're talking about there. Quantum is fine. If that's a bad film then I want to know what films y'all are watching.

Iron Man 3 and Love & Thunder are two movies I'd nominate as "truly bad". Haven't seen The Eternals and I don't remember Thor 2 well enough. I bailed on Ant-Man 3, couldn't make it past halfway.

These are all fine films, I think maybe Iron-Man 2 approaches bad levels. And the fact that you would even list Iron-Man 3, the best IM film and arguably one of the best MCU films, tells me you're out of your mind.

The Marvel formula doesn't lend itself to producing bad films. They pump out perfectly safe and predictable films. I personally find more enjoyment out of watching BvS: Ultimate Cut than Quantumania. But, I'm not going to sit here and argue BvS is a better film or even a good film. It's absolutely shit. But it at least was trying something, and that appeals to me. Quantumania is undoubtedly a decent film. I have no desire to ever see it again, but it was completely fine. Inoffensive. Safe.
