Guys [Taylor Swift] was born modestly wealthy and is now a billionaire. I don't want to make you to feel bad about liking her, but she likely doesn't give a single fuck about the person that died to be blunt about it.

My favourite game of all time getting a remaster with a new mode. I cannot *wait* to play this. I credit TLOU2 for breaking down one of the primary pillars that was stopping me from accepting myself, and ultimately helped give me conviction to do so, to come out and to transition. It means a whole heck of a lot to me.

It will be really nice to replay through this next year, a week before my anniversary of starting HRT no less, and soak up how far I’ve come since those initial plays and what resonates with where I am now.

The Hunger Games appeals as a series for women because the main trilogy had way better female leads that actually appeal to women. Instead of Disney's girl boss brand of feminism, most of the characters in the hunger games are actual characters. Instead of having their identity solely being a strong independent woman that does everything that men do but better. Instead, Hunger games presents all of its female leads as real people. Some of the women, are literal powerful fascist nightmares, some are wonderful people, and everything in between. It's truly feminist in that it presents equality in interesting ways, where every single characters gender and sexuality ties into different strengths, but never consists of their entire identity. The fact that Katnis is a pretty relatable character really helps too, instead of captain marvel, who is literally put on a pedastal that no woman can live up to.

In short, Captain Marvel's tagline of Higher, Faster, Further is not really a hit with women. This is literally the biggest problem that actual feminist literature deals with, for example, this is explored in the Barbie movie. Where this obsession with perfection is one of the biggest issues women deal with nowadays.

Now with Gen Z: Instead of having movies that say absolutely nothing, with vain distinctions of bad guys vs good. Hunger games has a lot to say about fascism, late stage capitalism, which actually addresses the issues gen Z is facing.

It has romance in it, it aint that deep.

I see why people read box office threads. First we got people wondering why women didn't care to show up for The Marvels despite it having women as leads. now we got people confident Hunger Games only succeeds due to romance. It's like peering into a real Hollywood executive meeting.
