It's mostly for domestic consumption. Erdogan rails against US forces and Israel, Turks go and protest at the US airbase, Turkish police shows up to drive them away with tear gas.  lol
And guess who is behind it all? The jews Hmph

They don't want "NATO" there for a simple reason. French, Dutch and Ingerland ships patrolling the Black Sea would really fuck up the illegal arms, oil and goods trade as well as the human trafficking operations.

After they succesfully derailed the campaigns of the center right and a number of populist challengers the Dutch left is panicking.
Geert Wilders has suddenly surged in the polls with only 3 days to go until the election.

They don't understand that calling Wilders 'extreme right' doesn't work if their own voters march alongside raging anti-semites in Free Palestine protests.
Not to mention all their campaign messaging is about Frans Timmermans and the climate with some LGBTQ+ glitters sprinkled in.
But polls clearly show people care the most about healthcare, costs of living, housing and migration and the least about the climate.

So even if people agree with the left in general that the ruling liberal conservative parties messed up they switch to Wilders instead.

You don't have to worry about that, he wants to cut ties with China, Cuba and other communists and enhance ties with the US, UK and Europe.

Don't know what kind of foreign currency reserves Argentina has to manage a transition to dollarization... and removal of a central bank is always some crackpot idea in a world where everyone else controls their money.  Privatizing the pension system seems good though.  Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Tommorow is voting day.

Polls show a tight race between 4 parties.
- VVD ("liberal" conservatives that literally fucked up everything but deny any wrong doing, their new Kurdish dom mommy leader pledges to solve the issues they created - kind of a Sunak situation but they forced this vote themselves)
- PVV (a party of literally 1 guy and a few associates who has been hiding in a bunker for 20 years because he hates Islam lol )
- GroenLinks-PvdA (frankenstein monster of climate marxism lead by Frans Timmermans)
- NSC (new party formed by the most capable bureaucrats lead by anti-corruption autisty Pieter Omtzigt, which has lost ground to the PVV as the 'angry vote' because he's indecisive about becoming prime minister and not governing with GroenLinks-PvdA)

The key issues
- Healthcare (waiting lists, high costs, staff shortages)
- Uncontrolled migration (50% of university students are foreigners, companies hire cheap labour from Poland/Bulgaria and finally we admit ~85% of all asylum seekers of which over 50% end up on welfare)
- Rampant inflation (cost of living basically, highest energy prices in Europe, went up like 900%)
- Housing shortage (affordable homes have been sold off to investors, nothing is being build because of government regulations)
- Broken tax system (expats have to pay 30% less tax, income is taxed far less than labour and there are many more tax loopholes like this. Because of intertwined benefits working more means earning less in most cases)
- Long COVID / COVID (government has blocked any serious research or compensation for COVID/Long COVID)
- Various government scandals courtesy of the VVD, trust in government is at an all time low
- Climate (in a dril budget way we have nearly 35 billion parked in a climate fund)

About 50% of the voters are still unsure who to vote for, which is a new record in indecisiveness.
The expectation is that those voters will continue to flock to the PVV and GroenLinks-PvdA.

FVD could also surprise, because they've been very active on TikTok posting memes about Minecraft and Andrew Tate and won the 'school elections' with the PVV which is sort of a mock election for high school students. I think most people will strategically vote for PVV or GroenLinks-PvdA though at the expense of VVD, NSC and various small parties.

The fun part begins after the elections because no one wants to govern with the PVV, GroenLinks-PvdA doesn't want to govern with the VVD and NSC would rather not govern with VVD either. If you combine all the left/right wing parties into two camps the split would be something like 65% - 75% for the right and 35% - 25% for the left.

It's starting to sink in that we've finally taken our country back from the soulless corporate menace and the climate cult Rejoice

Wilders + Omtzigt being the big winners is the best possible outcome.
Wilders for the short term solutions and Omtzigt for the long term vision and new government structures.

The VVD can try to force new elections hoping for a better outcome but that will only make their loss bigger.
The left has a ceiling, votes between D66 and GroenLinks-PvdA have merely been swapped.

I keep asking my SO to go to the Netherlands for a vacation since I have never been there (stop flights in Schipol don't count). She keeps vetoing this since she went there so many times as a teen/young adult.

Now she has another excuse to say no.   Undecided

This is what the far-right Dutch media and fascist Dutch government gets for platforming Wilders instead of deplatforming him completely. Not like this!

This morning Wilders jokingly said they won with a campaign budget of barely 3 Euro.

Which is true, because he didn't run any TV ads, news paper ads or online ads. Because of his security situation he doesn't do any big political rallies either.
As far as deplatforming goes, he does do most debates but he rarely shows up or is invited on TV outside of that. The answer of many commentators that he gets death threats from Muslims all over the world and lives in hiding is usually that he deserves it.

That is the one thing that is probably glossed over in the foreign press. They like to compare Wilders to Trump, Milei, Orban or Bolsonaro but unlike them Wilders doesn't have a massive political movement or party behind him, big rallies or millions in campaign funds to reach voters.

He's just "Geertje" as we call him here.

The left has started to protest against his election win

I agree that first and foremost elections are won by parties and individuals and grand narratives are bullshit, but there is definitely a general consensus that "lefty bullshit"* is on the nose with the general public and has been for some time.

The Labor Party won our most recent federal election after losing a number of unlosable elections. They won because the centre right government continued to be at the mercy of the conservative Christian right and were a complete basket case (although not as bad as the Tories over there).

After a bit of a honeymoon period, the government is facing up to the reality that their pet projects in climate change, gender fuckery and fucking with industrial relations in favour of the unions that nobody joins are not exactly popular and shit is starting to sour. They're just lucky the opposition have decided literal Voldemort is their man.

If there's a grand narrative it's that people are moving back to the sensible centre, which means that if there's no sensible centre they will vote opposite to what is currently in power.

*I specifically used quotes there because what I really mean is the bullshit open borders immigration, trans terrorism and other garbage that has about as much in common with leftist political ideology as Nintex's left testicle.
