Fucking hate articles like this. Written by someone who has no idea about firearms. They make it out as if there's something mystical about the AR-15.

AR-15 is a platform. Most are chambered in .223/5.56mm which is a very light round used for varmints and small game. On the scale of deadly weapons, it barely qualifies. 

What makes the platform deadly is the semiautomatic nature of the gun and the modifications and parts which can give the shooter the capacity to shoot multiple rounds in quick succession and to easily change mags to keep shooting. The close in nature of these shootings is also one of the keys to how deadly they get.

There's literally nothing more deadly about an AR-15 than any other rifle than speed of firing and reloading. Oh yeah, also the willingness of the person holding it to shoot innocent people...

If you want to address the problem, that's the biggest target you should aim at.

My daughter's U11 team last season played against a team of girls who had a few players who were clearly about 2 years older and waaaay more physically developed. My daughter's team were very good, but just the difference in physical development meant it was a complete mismatch in skill and power. Wow a few girls were injured just going into 50/50 challenges.

Many years ago when I was a less old, less grumpy cunt, I played quite a bit of mixed futsal. I was a bang average player, but physically the women just couldn't match up and as a decent human being you would have to constantly pull out of challenges or hit a softer shot that you would otherwise have gone in full blooded to avoid hurting someone.

Translate that to a bloke playing against a bunch of women on an outdoor pitch and treating them as "equals" and holy shit, that's just fucking dangerous.
