Talking about being surprised by obvious things:

I'm enjoying this quite a lot, but the copoganda is on the nose. I know the first movie was anti-corporate primarily (the second, while enjoyable, is politically vile; a Reagan-era drugs 'r' bad Frank Miller turd. The third is just a kids cartoon), but I feel like this game is missing the chance to take more of a dig at the cops given how attitudes towards law enforcement have shifted over the years.

I had a 'thank you for your order we will get it to you promptly, here's your receipt' email just yesterday that said 990$ had been taken from my PayPal. I thought the pdf itself might have a virus so it took a while to open, but once I did I just checked my PayPal, saw no money had been removed, and reported the email.

The goal isn't a Palestinian country. To my knowledge, that was refused multiple times. The goal is to kill Jews and destroy Israel.

The reports about casualties are at the very least unreliable. There is no way to prove any numbers, Hamas tends to inflate them, and there is no distinction between civilians and combatants. There were videos about Hamas killing people who try to flee. How do we know who was killed by whom? Al-Qassam also posts video about fights with the IDF. Quite a few of them where they are dressed as civilians.

This is a circle of hatred that has been ongoing for decades, and Israel had to react after October the 7th. Everyone knew this was going to be a nightmare. How do you fight someone that doesn't share your value of life? That puts rocket launchers right next to mosques and schools? The leaders of Hamas, billionaires who enjoy their time in Qatar, said on TV that the blood of Gaza's civilians is necessary to win.

Anybody who (still) lives in Gaza has my full sympathy. Terrorists fuck it up for everybody and chances are that the IDF slightly cares more about you than anyone from Hamas. And that is a really low bar.

So if this article's sources are to be believed, Ortega quit the movie first (this is what I had been hearing myself, or at least that she was trying to get out of it as much as possible pre-strike) and then Melissa was fired after Ortega's decision to leave was finalized, which is a slightly different order of events than we expected.

Spyglass must have decided that there was no point in moving forward with their original plan for VII without Ortega's star power to market it around, and then this whole situation served as a convenient excuse for them to fire Melissa as well, preventing her from being able to sue them for breach of contract in the process, while letting their studio head feel like he did a "good" thing.

I hope Neve throws their offer back in their faces.
