What genocide is Joe Biden committing under his direct rule? And you don't think Trump would absolutely spearhead the genocide of LGBTQ+ folks particularly trans people if elected?

The whole "genocide Joe" thing has become so toxic and makes it impossible to try and have legitimate discussion around Biden's term and upcoming election. Regarding the entire Palworld AI "controversy", did nobody on Era mention that the first trailer for the game came out in June 2021 and already showed many of the designs? CompVis, Runway and StabilityAI released the first version of Stable Diffusion in August of 2022, with custom models, including models tuned to generate Pokemons, not arriving for another couple of months. AI generated 3D models are an even more recent development, and still very much in R&D.

Funny story. When new competitors enter an established industry, rather than pushing existing businesses out, they usually generate significant new interest which has a positive effect on interest in that product category.

An example of this is when Specsavers entered the Australian optometry market as a big foreign player they spent up big on advertising to win market share. My optometrist was concerned because he's an independent provider. However, what he found was that after Specsavers entered the market, he was busier than ever.

This is because the advertising and awareness raised by Specsavers reminded people they needed to visit the optometrist.

The dominant market position of Pokemon will not be threatened at all because Pokemon is not completely dissatisfying the market.

the switch pokemon games suck in various ways due to lack of caring/poor optimization as well as lowest common denominator kiddie stories and dialogue

in sword and shield you're literally just following some guy around for the whole story and NPCs are like "wow look over there at that crazy thing that's happening off-screen so we don't have to animate it!!!"

arceus was at least a change up of the formula but I heard it was super repetitive like "go catch 50 of this type of pokemon for your checklist"

the last good pokemon games were omega ruby and alpha sapphire on the 3DS because back on GBA it was already a good game with bigger stakes from the terrorists of the game than most, and then they just improved that base game with a boatload of content

but if you don't want to play a 3DS game, the real answer for best pokemon game on the switch is Game Boy Pokemon TCG on the Switch Online app


edit: I forgot "let's go pikachu" is on the switch, it's a remake of the first game with abstracted mechanics from pokemon go that makes capturing dead easy and the focus of the game rather than battling, but at least it's a remake of a good game if you have nostalgia for it

Bisexuality is often overly simplified as "people who are attracted to men and women" but bisexuality is much more than that and so is being biromantic as while you maybe attracted to a gender, that doesn't mean you want to be in a relationship for many reasons. As for me, I consider myself bisexual but can often get frustrated with that label because I feel it gives off the wrong impression to people and assume I'm interested in men which I'm not nor would I feel comfortable being in a relationship with a man (and actually get afraid of being in large groups and crowds of men); but I don't consider myself a lesbian because I am interested in Non-Binary people as well (that it also bothers me in both real-life and fiction where if a bi person gets into a same-sex relationship, their sexuality gets erased or treated lesser, like bi people become "just" gay or lesbians or are now a "gay couple" without acknowledgement of their bisexuality).

Watching some youtube videos on Palworld just cemented why I don't like Survival/Crafting. The loop of gameplay they all seem to have is just not up my alley. As the premise of "building up" just feels like a waste of time for me. I can see why it appeals to so many though.

Who knows! If the Pokemon whiteknights try hard enough they may manifest a Nintendo lawsuit into existence :-/
