Honestly, I think Idris is great, but the people still suggesting him as Bond don't quite get that the Producers want a young guy for the role so they can get 5-6 movies out of him and Idris is only a few years shy of Craig in terms of age. I legit don't get why the Bond Writers never put both him and Clive Owen (another Bond Candidate for years back) in as other 00 agents into one of Craig's films as a nod at some point.

They could've had 007 movies, 005 bbc miniseries, 009 netflix animated series etc, etc.

Ultimately it boils down to nepotism and mismanagement. Fleming was a true blue blood and the property has been controlled by people who had a vested interest in presenting the britain that they felt Fleming had captured; the kind where posh spies run around having non-consensual sex and murdering but get away with it with a fist bump from the king because they're good chaps who went to the right school.

Bond is now in this weird nexus where they're ashamed to go to the source material and frit at the idea of doing something radical like making it a period film, as they obviously should and the novels kind of demand.

Fun to think about franchise plans that went nowhere. Like setting up Jeremy Renner to take over for an aging Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible 4. But here we are a decade later and Cruise is still jumping off trains and shit.

I think the gist of what Popper said wasn't that it was fair game but that you were morally, ethically and scientifically required to wish death on them. And that you could simply infer if they were wishing death on others rather than having to wait for them to actually express their intolerance.

I've been reading Clive Thompson for a while now. He makes good points here. We do subsidize EVs in many states and I think you can also write them off on your federal taxes, but subsizing ebikes, which are even more environmentally friendly, seems a better solution.

Remember, most car trips in the US are under two miles.

Also, micromobility isn't about replacing the car completely. That's especially hard in North America due to our zoning. It's about reducing the need of car trips for everything.

Moreover, it's great that the Denver program went to many of low income. Operating a vehicle is not cheap! And the need to operate a vehicle in many places in the US puts a huge financial burden on low income folks.
