This one is pretty funny

It sucks, it seems inclusive at first glance. Many of the mods and CM's have their pronouns included in their profile, several of them include "they" and are explicitly queer, and Areowhead has apparently even had trans staff judging by the CEO having a small conversation with an ex-employee who is publicly trans and expressed they had amicable relations with the CEO and Arrowhead. And any announcement gets alot of trans flag emoji reactions on it. The game even have a loading screen tip about how any Helldiver can just change their voice and physique at any time to fit and feel comfortable in.

To appear inclusive while turning around and treating it like a bothsides issue is incredibly performative. The discord is not set up to deal how massive the game is, its been needing another moderation pass

Speaking in general, corporatists who identify as leftists consider anybody to their right a “chud”. Makes it seem like “the chuds” are more open minded about enjoying an array of media. Like how they were supposed to be mad at Barbie but many enjoyed it. Or this Helldivers thing bringing back Starship Troopers debates. They’re so brain broken they see anybody enjoying it as missing the satire. Liking something that doesn’t ideology conform to their world view is unheard of. He has a decent take on it because he understands in how much he and others would be if there were IRL repercussions for the things he allows in the forum. While absolutely self serving, I cannot disagree that is a bad idea to cheer on.

There's no harm nor nuisance behind marginalized people rebuking bigots too. Every normal person is highly aware that their anger against them is justified because laws have been put in place to hurt the marginalized. If anything, it prevents the bigots from being in their community because they feel that it is unfair against them.

There's no purpose to it either, it's neutral at best. You're fighting a fight that has already been won. Transphobia is not allowed on the Helldivers 2 Discord server, it's explicitly a bannable offense. You don't need to fill up the channels attacking people who are going to get banned anyways, it just makes the place less fun for everyone else who wants to talk about the game without watching a giant argument blow up. It's their place, and they don't want it there, and that's their right.

It's not even a case of "standing by is no better than letting it happen", they don't let it happen. They just don't want people to make a big deal out of it before they can remove it, this should not be hard to understand.

I think dehumanizing speech about trans people should be banned. But at the same time you cant ban people for having other opinion about trans identity than you - even if their opinion is that its wrong. But in a world with people with differing opinions and wildly different views of what is acceptable to have as an opinion you cant just as a person on one side of a debate, demand that people on the other side, just be completely removed from the equation.
