They suspiciously also ignore the whole sex slavery saga

I really don't feel comfortable platforming Square Enix games on Resetera now. Can FFXIV and FF7 be banned now? The company is anti LGBTQIA+..

I mean, is the only reason why the franchise still has a fan base post Don't Nod (not that they were good managing the franchise themselves). Then again, I can see Square Enix point if they wanted the franchise to be some sort Anthology Twilight Zone with Teenagers, but LIS 2 bombing killed that notion.

Rage I don't

Congrats… in having the first in something on you Niche Franchise?

And, no offense to you lady, but Square Enix was just not going to say “Fuck those f**s, pay attention to this”. Then again, Square Enix seems to have kept the franchise after selling their Western studios to the slaughterhouse, so maybe they want to have their cake and eating it too.

I love Minthara, I think she's an awesome character that I seriously wish got further explored with more actual choice in how the ending works for an evil run with her. But the sex scene with her is seriously comical. Like she is a very domineering character, so I feel like I'd have certain expectations about how sex with her would be (but at the same time that is one of the first scenes where you can actually explore her vulnerabilities, so I think some of those expectations would honestly be shattered).

But then the actual depiction of the sex with Minthara is just her sitting on your face. (for a female main character, not sure if the male one is diferent). Was it titillating to watch, sure, but I was also seriously laughing at how ridiculous everything about it was too.

In general I feel like sex scenes are hard to approach in games, because no matter how you present them you can't really escape the voyeuristic feeling the player is going to have from not actually being the characters involved.

Yeah I watched the scenes for Minthara on youtube, and it looked like it was just trying to be titillating. I played a female character who romanced Karlach and those sex scenes felt sapphic as hell, and got me feeling quite flustered. Some of them are incredibly passionate and romantic, while others are like, yeah lets FUCK. Can be a bit weird going from one character to the next.

hmm .....

Wut

Can someone explain to me like I'm 5 why this is different and fine compared to the sexualization in Stellar Blade?

The word "sapphic" whereas the others are bad because they appeal to a hypothetical male gaze. Happy to help.

posts like this from the manifesto make me laugh at PoliEra. We all know Nep wouldn't do shit in any uprising, they're just like any of the other revolutionaries on twitter who cry and complain. The far left have a hard enough time being depressed and complaining about racism and transphobia, do you really think someone like Nep will strap and leave the comfort of the suburbs?

You know who actually stormed the capital instead of storming random black and asian owned businesses or have a sit in? The right. It's not the left who have shown any real initiative. Leftists love the Democrat plantation and being perpetual victims and you can't be the victim if you're the victor.

So stop taking her seriously, you guys. Learn to live, laugh, and love Nep's crazy little ramblings.  Malarkey!

Trump wins? So what? Nepnep's just going to keep complaining on Resetera and nothing will change over 4 years. Y'all gotta relax.

Quote:- SNES was just a more powerful NES & did very well
Wrong. After the ATARI crash Nintendo wanted to bring their arcade games into homes but they realized the risk would be too big to shrink down that type of hardware.
In addition they knew that no American or Japanese retailer wanted to stock videogame consoles. So instead they set out to create a "toy" for the US market and a "family computer" for the Japanese market that would cost no more than $99, which meant licensing the cheapest by then decade old CPU design and pairing it up with a rather neat custom sprite chip. All the toy and computer things fell by the wayside once the main focus became the games.

Unlike SEGA, who just picked the Motorola 68000 32-bit CPU for the MegaDrive, Nintendo licensed a CPU already customized by Apple for the SNES and made even more changes to it like increasing the RAM. They also went to Sony for a custom sound chip design. In addition they revamped the controller by adding 2 more face buttons and introduced shoulder buttons. Something the first 3-button MegaDrive controllers didn't have. You could argue that the SNES was actually Nintendo's first pure videogame console and the first console that was nearly 100% custom designed, not derived from arcade hardware or put together from existing parts.

Quote:- The GBA was just a more powerful GB & would've surpassed the original if the DS didn't cut its life short.
Wrong again and it wouldn't have surpassed the original. Nintendo thought it would too so they made the GameBoy Micro but by the time that landed the GameBoy hardware sales had already plummeted. The people buying were basically just replacing their broken GBAs, buying Flashcart+GBA bundles or cheap gifts. Games were selling less and less so third parties were also scaling back support. Nintendo released a prototype hardware unit and demo games (DS phat, Metroid Prime Hunters, Steel Diver, Yoshi Touch & Go) with a GBA cartridge slot because the GameBoy was fading fast. Remember the DS thumb strap that fucked up your screen and playing Super Mario 64 with a D-Pad?  lol

Quote:- The 3DS faltered early on due to Nintendo's own hubris.
It wasn't hubris it was cost. The 3DS released around the time smartphone and tablet sales were surging. Screens were expensive, it's why each 3DS came equipped with a hodgepodge of different quality types of screens. It was just a matter of what they could get their hands on. To drop the price by $50 Nintendo had to eat up quite some cost. The hardware inside was also plan B. Nintendo had hoped to use a more powerful Nvidia Tegra but that didn't pan out (most likely because of poor battery life) so they had to replace it with a less capable graphics chip. Nintendo also wanted to position it as a more 'fashionable' device for adults. The part of it that was maybe Hubris was that they thought they could get away with just 1 thumb stick for 3D games and had to create that circle pad expansion monstrosity that hooked up to the IR port.

Quote:- The Wii U had a multitude of factors holding it back.
After the dust settled everyone pretty much agreed that it was the name and branding that held it back more than anything. The fact that they had to quickly issue comparison sheets to retailers in between release and Christmas already showed there was something seriously wrong with the branding. Nintendo focused so much on the GamePad that they didn't show the system at all and thus all the normies thought it was just another Wii peripheral. The same Wii U Draw tablet they had returned earlier that bankrupted THQ. It wouldn't have fixed all the systems problems but it would've prevented it from being dead in the water the day after release. They could've sold twice as much in the first 6 months had they called it Nintendo GamePad or whatever.
