I mean, he's really not. The whole point of the question is that you can easily justify any of the answers through any of our various ideological frameworks. The very point of the question is to show us that our various frameworks do not encompass everything and cannot account for every possible situation and thus, by their very nature, not impartial or definitive.

The fact you're looking at it this way shows that you have actively fallen into the trap the author is trying to warn us about.

The point is that we ALL have biases and that as a result it is impossible to be truly objective. Basically, we have to be willing to consider other points of view or the fact that our own view might be entirely wrong in the first place.

Creating an ideological framework that is truly objective and just in all circumstances is essentially impossible.

Through that logic, giving it to child A means that they can then teach the other two how to play it and child B could then make more of them. At the end they'd all have flutes and know how to play.

The point is any of the options could reasonably be correct. There's no wrong answer, just like there's no right answer.

The idea is there's no single ideological perspective that accounts for all of this because they all have their biases, just as we as individuals do. As a result we need to be willing to consider other ideas and the fact that we might potentially be wrong in a given situation.

Why a flute? As far as I know flutes are not terribly easy to make. It had to have taken Child B like half their life to make that flute. It just seems criminal to give it to Child A who is going to grab it and rip out Aqualung in B’s face. Or child C who is going to pawn it down the street.

Frankly the flute is a great musical instrument in terms of songs that goes fweep fweep bong ding beep boop when you wrap your lips around it and blow it hard. It should be up to the people and not the federal government to decide who gets to play that beautiful flute.
