From what I remember, SkillUp made two great "sins" that ERA will never forgive him for:

1.) He was critical towards TLOU 2 during a time where any sort of criticism towards that game got you labeled as alt-right. This is also why they finally banned Angry Joe as well.

2.) His brother runs a channel that has thumbnails they deem is rightwing/MAGA friendly, and SkillUp regularly shows up on the channel, so he's guilty by association.

@PallasKitten you speak to something I was going to reply to @Morrigan with yesterday but I was one foot out the door at the time. Being seen as one of the good/reasonable ones on an issue and how being spotlighted always comes with that sense of shade thrown at others in the community. It always feels shit whether it's because of a thing you like or the 'civility' you're offering in the discussion. I've had it a lot with the trans side of things where someone will ignore a number of other members just to greet me with some thanks for using a 'calmer tone' or offering a 'civil discussion', I hope I avoid it with Stellar Blade.

It just seems to operate under a complete lack of awareness for any hierarchy in things. Yes I'm sometimes placid, no it doesn't mean I don't have the back of my trans siblings who aren't. Yes I like Stellar Blade, no it doesn't mean you can paper over issues other women have with it. Made even more stupid when I share many of them. It just feels like you're being claimed or used as a prop by people and it leaves a foul taste.

I've also had people thank me in the past for discussing things "civilly", and it almost always leaves me feeling a bit ick. It's such an incredibly daunting and frustrating position to be in, especially when people seem to make up their own versions of you in their head or something, like "oh this person's cool! They talk positively about this game that has problematic content, so I guess that means they're "one of the good ones", unlike all those other pesky people bringing up the game's issues." All because they only see one facet of you, or only what they want to see, and ignore all nuance.

Thank you for your contributions to the Stellar Blade discussions though, a lot of your posts have been interesting to read, and it's always a joy seeing such passion and thoughtfulness in someone's writing.

When I was a kid, I accidentally stepped on a bee while walking on the beach and it managed to sting me between two of my toes.

That must have been TERRIFYING. I've been stung a couple times but always on my arms and legs, never on the torso. I tend to not be too afraid of bugs or spiders (if I was, the time a house centipede fell off of my bedroom ceiling, got caught in my bangs and ran down the front of my nose would've killed me), but that level of proximity to a wasp would definitely leave lasting mental scars.

I hate killing insects to this day and will always try to save them as much as possible.
