Being a small affiliated LGBTQ+ streamer is definitely rough especially when I'm too honest to use any of those manipulative tactics to grow my stream. I get what you mean, winning the game usually takes a piece of shit much like many other industries.

Until recently, when moderating the forum, staff was limited to handing out bans in an attempt to dissuade certain types of behavior. All we had was a stick, but with the addition of highlighted posts we are now able to reward users who make thoughtful, intelligent, empathetic, helpful, and, yes even, funny posts. In the past we would discuss how much we liked a post or a joke a user had made, but we had no way to reward said posts and show people how good they were. That changes now.

Below are a number of posts that we have chosen to highlight in order to show everyone the sort of thing we are looking for:

We don't plan to be the only ones choosing what posts to highlight, if there is a post you think is really good in a positive way, something that shows the best of our posters and what they are capable of then we want you to send in a report explaining why a post is good and worthy of highlighting. Keep in mind though, if a post is breaking the rules of the site in some way that we will action the user instead of highlighting them. We do not plan on highlighting posts that are needlessly mean or aggressive or inflammatory, we want to be highlighting good posts. You take the above posts as examples of what we are talking about.

My question is: when have white people been systemically discriminated against for being white?

There is a feeling of "joy", but in a way that digs you under, and only grants more misery that looks more and more like joy the deeper you go.

I almost fell into the gamergate hole pre-transition when I was younger, stupider, naive, sheltered under a conservative household and environment, and was feeling lost and alone straight out of high-school with absolutely zero guidance that would actually help me, with my only solace being gaming and online gaming spaces. It only made me feel worse and I didn't realize it until I got out after making friends in progressive gaming spaces with progressives and minorities. Thankfully, I didn't go that far in, but the effects were already deep and it took me getting to know the people I was supposed to hate, and realizing they were the better people and that their beliefs and ideals made much more sense, for them to pull me out of the spiral and heal from it.

People in those right-wing spirals may think they feel joy and have found community, but their hate is poison to themselves and everyone around them. Joanne is absolutely 100% miserable while convincing herself she's not, or else she wouldn't focus so much on hatred and never doing anything fulfilling with her life since going down the transphobia spiral.

Hellblade 2 is out in a couple days. There’s that upcoming Ubisoft Star Wars game. A Princess Peach just came out. In indies there’s Penny’s Big Breakaway. Tomb Raider trilogy remaster came out. Inexplicably Last of Us 2 had a remaster on PS5. Last year had Alan Wake 2, which is Remedy’s follow up to Control.

100% agreed with this. I honestly think this feature is going to eventually backfire hard and lead to a huge backlash / event that gets a ton of people pissed off. Either the wrong post will get highlighted or people will be wondering why one isn't when it's a contentious topic etc. It's just a recipe for a shitstorm.

After the nationalist non-sense in Rise of the Ronin... and the orientalist garbage that was Ghost of Tsushima... This looks dope. A village girl who hates the Samurai because they're evil pieces of shit who go around destroying shit in conquest - teaming up with Yasuke!! I can only hope the weird sci-fi that Assassin's Creed tries to inject doesn't end up being too heavy handed. It's kind of sad that this game is the only one so far to have me hype when it comes to feudal/historical Japan games.

I'd grown extremely disillusioned with gaming and depicting historic Japan. The Ghost of Tsushima PC hype has been killing me because people keep talking it up despite it being a really orientalist game in a lot of cases (and one that appeals to far right loons in Japan). Muh samurai I guess.

Anyways, trailer got me hype. I can only hope the game is better than some of their other more grindy nonsense in recent years.
