The mods are really going with "We are knowledgeable about everything" when they are consistently wrong about everything.

no you see it makes total sense when bdumbs has a tantrum on the userbase cause they are grown adults who should be able to discuss things, but also treats them like children who can't handle a like button and need to be directly shown what a "good post" is by the mods.

Wherein Nepenthe designates the appropriate racial behavioural dynamic between minority groups as a function of the inner city she's never stepped foot into.

It's all so funny because Nepenthe has literally appropiated Brazilian culture by claiming it's actually part of a universal black culture and thus part of her own

All we had was a stick, but with the addition of highlighted posts we are now able to reward users who make thoughtful, intelligent, empathetic, helpful, and, yes even, funny posts. In the past we would discuss how much we liked a post or a joke a user had made, but we had no way to reward said posts and show people how good they were. That changes now.

Below are a number of posts that we have chosen to highlight in order to show everyone the sort of thing we are looking for:

It's kind of like a 'like' system but only the mods get to like posts  lol

We don't plan to be the only ones choosing what posts to highlight, if there is a post you think is really good in a positive way, something that shows the best of our posters and what they are capable of then we want you to send in a report explaining why a post is good and worthy of highlighting. Keep in mind though, if a post is breaking the rules of the site in some way that we will action the user instead of highlighting them. We do not plan on highlighting posts that are needlessly mean or aggressive or inflammatory, we want to be highlighting good posts. You take the above posts as examples of what we are talking about.

My question is: when have white people been systemically discriminated against for being white?

Not a foreigner, an occupier/settler, not a different nationality or religion, or being disabled or queer? I'm talking about for being white. Where in the history of whiteness has being white had a systemic, life-threatening downside? And if you can find an example, how has that compared to being Black in that same time period?

Can we report this post to be highlighted? ⭐️

Oh damn, so many instances of racism I can now dismiss as people actually just disliking foreigners, religion etc. Thx Nepenthe

Weirdly, a racist thinks all their prejudices are legitimate, therefore when they say all white people are like this, its not racism, its just bringing up specific grievances that just happen to apply to everyone of a certain skin colour.

Like, nepenthe isn't antisemitic when the (((collective nation))) should be held responsible for an administration they might not agree with in a country they don't live in - its just the way they hoard all the money and control the media
Nepenthe wrote:Non-Black folks think they can waltz up into Black culture and just take whatever they want because they fundamentally have no respect for Black ownership of our culture.

No, stupid.  It's because the world's defacto nature is fundamentally built on cultural exchange which has historically allowed societies to grow and evolve through the sharing of ideas, art, food, and traditions.  This is a vital aspect of human history and development, playing a significant role in shaping societies, fostering innovation, and promoting mutual understanding.  People just assume black people are in on this, too.  But you seem to think they are exceptional - as if they're a different species.  That American black-created music and culture is loved and shared throughout the world by different people should be a cause for celebration, you idiot.

I cannot wait for the shitstorm when they accidentally ban someone instead of highlighting their post or vice versa.
I can't be bothered explaining how gatekeeping culture means it fucking dies, but spreading it everywhere makes it strong again, but if 'black culture' wants the n-word to vanish into obscurity, maybe stop using it all the fucking time?

You either reappropriate it into a badge of honour and people trying to use it as a slur end up using it as a compliment, or you make it unacceptable to use at all in society.

I almost fell into the gamergate hole pre-transition when I was younger, stupider, naive, sheltered under a conservative household and environment, and was feeling lost and alone straight out of high-school with absolutely zero guidance that would actually help me, with my only solace being gaming and online gaming spaces. It only made me feel worse and I didn't realize it until I got out after making friends in progressive gaming spaces with progressives and minorities. Thankfully, I didn't go that far in, but the effects were already deep and it took me getting to know the people I was supposed to hate, and realizing they were the better people and that their beliefs and ideals made much more sense, for them to pull me out of the spiral and heal from it.

People in those right-wing spirals may think they feel joy and have found community, but their hate is poison to themselves and everyone around them. Joanne is absolutely 100% miserable while convincing herself she's not, or else she wouldn't focus so much on hatred and never doing anything fulfilling with her life since going down the transphobia spiral.

No shit? Cenauru was a woman hater before they became a dragon-girl/lesbian??
Thank god you are now a woman so you can say all the shit you used to say but now have the trans shield.

I swear every one of those weirdos was a online incel douche that put on a wig to deflect criticism.

They're talking about ResetEra, right?

Once again, these guys need constant validation for victimization on easily disproven lies.

Hellblade 2 is out in a couple days. There’s that upcoming Ubisoft Star Wars game. A Princess Peach just came out. In indies there’s Penny’s Big Breakaway. Tomb Raider trilogy remaster came out. Inexplicably Last of Us 2 had a remaster on PS5. Last year had Alan Wake 2, which is Remedy’s follow up to Control.

It’s not 1997 anymore where Gex is groping some chick in a magazine ad. For better or worse…
There's always the option of not worshipping characters in games as though they are personal deities, particularly for those in or approaching middle age

It's kind of sad that this game is the only one so far to have me hype when it comes to feudal/historical Japan games.

I'd grown extremely disillusioned with gaming and depicting historic Japan. The Ghost of Tsushima PC hype has been killing me because people keep talking it up despite it being a really orientalist game in a lot of cases (and one that appeals to far right loons in Japan). Muh samurai I guess.

Anyways, trailer got me hype. I can only hope the game is better than some of their other more grindy nonsense in recent years.

No one is perfect. Hasan has certainly screwed up a couple times in the past. But he's one of the most important progressive voices in the country and has introduced a lot of younger people to progressive politics. He is also one of the leading pro-Palestinian voices and has been since before October 7.
