I think I've run into two and didn't really speak to either of them

one seemed like they were just trying to live their life but they were at the checkout counter so they have a script/job to do

one was possibly a co-manager at a trendy restaurant and looked exactly like sam brinton but with more tattoos and jewelry

another person I met was a really nice, otherwise normal woman who didn't announce her pronouns but found out through others referring to her that she's "they/them" and mostly I feel really sorry for her that she thinks that's necessary

that's a really common theme on era, you're never allowed to reference anything that anyone there (dev or random pleb) has ever done or said in the past, on era, offsite, anywhere

Excluded implies intent and I don't think that's the case in this issue. I think one of many reasons you don't see lots of black women romanticizable is because if feels like the Black girls are also "tough girls". I mean just look at your examples. For some reason Bangalore from Apex is coming to mind as well. Those characters don't fit the typical stereotype of "romanceable woman". They often are aggressive stereotypes and the average man will find that intimidating. That's just one of the many reasons I think we are in this situation

As always, the response from people to changes like these is mostly terrible.
On the one side you have people saying "game got woke, time to review bomb", on the other you have people going "based devs, this is great" and both are equally awful and don't make a sensible argument beyond saying this is good / bad.

The idea of changing concept -art- that people paid for is revolting on many levels, both from the artistic integrity and consumer side of things. For better or worse, this result isn't what people signed up for.
The main game is sort of in the same boat and you can make parallels to making edits to books or movies that make arbitrary changes to fit current societal trends instead of letting people look at it objectively with their value system.

I can understand where the devs are coming from but unless there is an easy way to access previous versions of the game (pirating exist but I want an official version) on every platform the game is out on, the whole situation stinks conceptually.

I don't blame them for not moderating gendering because it definitely requires a manual human review, and they don't know the history of histories whether a person is legitimately trans, is a conservative troll faking it to get others in trouble, is a liberal goof stretching the limits of LARPing by changing their pronouns daily, whether the pronouns are clearly stated somewhere, how long they have been clearly stated prior to the "offense," etc.

They could also be taking the (completely sane) view that mis-gendering is not violence, hate speech or genocide...but just someone making a mistake or being a bit of an arse...

They're waaaay too over-protective of game devs there  Mods and admins still act like it's GAF which at least had some respect from the industry.
