It's the bleeding heart, guilty conscience white people who are to blame.

Oh it's definitely some black people in there. A specific type who hate (straight) black men, exclusively date white men, and have spent the last 40+ years erasing black studies and replacing them with black feminism theories. I'm not a Marxist but I don't think it's a coincidence that this shift has a direct correlation with the erasure of black militant or black revolutionary ideologies from campuses across the country. All that black power shit got snuffed out via the FBI, CIA, Cointelpro, and everything else and then suddenly here comes Gloria Steinem, who used to work for the CIA (just a coincidence I'm sure), and the rest is history. it's been game over since then.

Notably, of those who self-identified as LGBTQ+, only 22.9% of students described themselves as gay or lesbian in the Herald Spring 2023 poll, down from 46% in Fall 2010. Bisexual was the most common answer among LGBTQ+ respondents with 53.7% of LGBTQ+ responses.

Crap, MSNBC is late to this apparently, from 2018:

What are you supposed to "watch out" for if it's unavoidable? hmm

And now on the eve of her final Women’s World Cup, Rapinoe has taken aim at recent policies that aim to ban transgender women from competing in women’s sports.

“We as a country are trying to legislate away people’s full humanity,” she told Time magazine in an interview.

“It’s particularly frustrating when women’s sports is weaponized. Oh, now we care about fairness? Now we care about women’s sports? That’s total bulls**t.

...

“I don’t want to mince words about it,” Rapinoe explained in her interview with Time. “[Comedian] Dave Chappelle making jokes about trans people directly leads to violence, whether it’s verbal or otherwise, against trans people.”

...

“‘You’re taking a “real” woman’s place,’ that’s the part of the argument that’s still extremely transphobic,” Rapinoe told Time. “I see trans women as real women. What you’re saying automatically in the argument – you’re sort of telling on yourself already – is you don’t believe these people are women. Therefore, they’re taking the other spot. I don’t feel that way.”

I'm seeing people say "you obviously didn't read the article" but eh...I've got no motive to click that fitness article fellas. If it's about the weirdo hyper masculine pseudoscience shit going on with some right wing bros who only eat meat or clearly do steroids (like RFK Jr) then sure I get it. But if it's just "man these guys sure love working out" ehh....we're back to the nonsense about exercise being a wing of white supremacy huh.

Kinda goes back to my entire point about so much of this stuff is really designed to harm black people. What incentive is there to tell the people who die of heart disease/hypertension/high cholesterol/etc more than anyone else on the planet (percentage wise) that working out and eating healthy is white shit, or bad? Beyond lying to people to make them feel better, what is the motive behind claiming obese people are no less healthy than active people? What's the end game here, who benefits?

I would say Black people get a pass on fitness because it's obvious on its face that a Black man at a gym wouldn't be a white supremacist, but these days we have violence committed by unknown individuals, it gets pre-labeled in the media as a white supremacist act, and then you find out the perpetrator is hispanic or muslim and they stay committed to the bit rather than admit they were wrong

I think at this point it really is the most surface-level and daisy-chained incentive: "these people are obviously nazi-chud white supremacists because I was told so by others, and I see several of these people promoting personal physical health, therefore physical fitness is a product of systemic oppression perpetrated by nazi-chud white people, and the people of color that don't know their place better."

Perhaps you're right. It's just so odd because there has always been a focus on fitness for many black dudes. Lot of us play sports, are active outside, lift weights, gym culture, etc. I'd say the same of white guys, who obviously value fitness too. IIRC black women are one of the demographics least likely to exercise consistently and they also have some of the worst rates for heart disease and obesity. Whenever I see any attacks on fitness, gym culture, healthy eating, etc it's coming from either an obese black woman or an obese white woman.

I get that skinny people can be unhealthy but if you can't sit on the toilet without putting significant strain on your heart...you aren't healthy at all and need to lose weight. This should be treated the same way we treat smoking. It's a massive health risk.

It's all part of the oppression olympics.
"I'm miserable and out of shape and you should be too."
"I'm offended and triggered and you should be too"
etc.

It's also telling that an anti-war environmentalist who challenges corporate power (RFK Jr.) is now considered a right winger.

Quote:“The attacks on trans people have been very acute and vicious,” Alejandra Caraballo, a trans activist and clinical instructor at Harvard Law School’s Cyberlaw Clinic, said. “It’s basically been the only thing that the far-right talks about so it’s not surprising that, in light of all of these concentrated attacks against trans people, that support has started to dip.”
lol

yes this is the problem.
