(I had discovered earlier that dashing forward confuses most Ronin's who keep going but hadn't truly recognized the power of going sideways.)
Sometime ago I had swapped all my titan kits (except Ronin) to the extra dash one and that's so huge of advantage it's crazy. Northstar with three dashes is one of the funniest things ever. Dudes will be like "haha got you" and I'm chaining dashes at weird angles away. But just creating space to run away works so well. Though to be fair, few people actually ever run away to fight another battle in this game. Even though Ronin is completely based around hit and runs. Northstar as a hott hit-and-runner took me way too long to realize.
They can take this game from my cold dead hands.

It's another rogue like. I don't understand why they all say that it is different or much better either

I figured out I just don't like roguelikes very much. Having to replay shit I already know just to get to the part I struggle with is the opposite of fun to me. Having the gameplay in large part be luck based instead of skill based isn't very fun to me either.
If Super Mario Bros sent me back to 1-1 each time I died I'd probably chuck the console out of the window.

I totally forgot Summer Geoff Fest airs today
I wonder how classless and juvenile the whole thing will be this year...
Is Monster Hunter Wilds their big final game?
Christ, this year has been awful for gaming.
Terrible show to the point that I don't really see the point of it.
Big games(?) I remember were:
Metaphor Refantazio
Dragonball Z: Sparking Zero
SF6 DLC + Fatal Fury
Sonic & Shadow Generations
Alan Wake II DLC
Skate
Monster Hunter Rise
It was mostly just noise and most of it was announcements of announcements.

This belongs in the fuck this console generation thread
Has anyone even heard of or tried Megaton Musashi?
I’ve been eyeing it for a month and nobody is playing it but I drunk purchased it last night:
Level5
Well-reviewed
Great support
High production values at $50
I’m about 4 hours in and it’s an anime but kind of neat? I normally skip game writing but this isn’t too bad, a bit cheeky/tropes but the setup is okay. Pacing is funny so far but it’s kind of artful how they’ve put it together.
The mech battles and the ‘ease’ into it is actually great though. More Custom Robo in open environments and it kind of plays like a Musou with an absolute fuckton of loot and content.
Anyway, it’s all voiced and is an actual RPG so far. I just really, really like it. It’s kind of a crazy thing that it exists from who it exists from and is literally a whisper of a release. Digital only.

Wow, this Perfect Dark reveal looks like a highly scripted vertical slice. Did they even give a release date?

Gameplay looked great but the Jo Dark model looked like this
What is with these half framerate animations. I hate this.

Man, you'll love the game they're showing now. Also got that jerky stop-motion style.
Edit: Wow, that German villain in the Indy game was terribly written. Guess MachineGames didn't learn a lot after their progressively worse written Wolfenstein games.

Fuck, they better stick the landing on the Gears prequel. Those are characters I actually like.

Indiana Jones - looked good enough but also very cutscene heavy
Doom: The Dark Ages - I trust these devs to make something cool
Stalker 2 - got the vibe right, back on my radar
Black Ops 6 - looked incredible
Assassins Creed - was Assassins Creed, looked good tho
MGS Snake Eater - looks a bit off unsure about this one
Perfect Dark - well Deus Ex is dead so I'll take any replacement immersive sim. But it literally has nothing to do with the original game
Gears of War E-Day - Seems like a return to form after the robot mess that was 5
I would say this was the bare minimum for a company that owns Bethesda, Activision and all those other studios and IPs.
And honestly it's still kind of dissapointing how many franchises just remain dead in the hands of Microsoft.
Better look at the new Jo Dark
The in-game model doesn't stack up though.

I mean, there's not exactly enough development houses to use them. Until they bought Activision they weren't exactly buying franchise houses, Bethesda looked like one but it had teams like Arkane that do stuff new all the time or ones that were already three games deep into a franchise so likely to transition soon. Especially since they're going to want AAA games out of all of these.
Microsoft's been burned too many times trying to outsource development to outside teams just to try and produce titles, look at all the outright slop they published for the original Xbox for example. Or how bad this went around the One's launch. Don't forget the money they threw down the Kinect hole.
The one benefit of GamePass has been that they have a financial incentive for publishing non-AAA stuff. But a lot of those "name brand" franchises are going to get fans to expect AAA stuff. Personally, I think they should be looking at churning out lower budget stuff in those franchises more regularly with a big game every so often, something like was done with those Lara Croft side-games. Really, this is what they should have been doing with Halo and Gears with ONE BIG game in that franchise once a cycle. That's what Nintendo does! No need to copy Sony when you have an untouched stable like Microsoft does.
And I mean that regarding Microsoft IPs they've had going way back, not just the ones they've recently acquired. Why has there not been a third Crimson Skies game over the last twenty years? You're telling me you couldn't put that into a deadzone in the schedule and make profit like the last one did?
Then again, look what they've done with Crackdown.
