Guys, slow down here. I know it was my fault to store the money like this. We DO have a savings account for medical emergencies and whatnot, but this was different.

My son has been made well aware how shitty that was. He's still hoarse from crying, mainly because he realized how sad it made me. I hope. He's got no more media for the summer, no pocket money, and I did think about a payback plan, but some feedback I got was he's too young to comprehend that.

As I wrote in my follow-up, the majority so far came from selling stuff, which I can do again. Also I'm doing a small-scale second job and have a written a piece that will make around 1,300€ as well.

She supports me in it and everything and we usually do all vacations together, but this will be my own thing. Well, my older son may come along for a summer camp….might make a thread about that with questions once it's back on track.

If you want to talk about your research in general, just do that. It's a reasonably positive place.

I was genuinely looking for what to do. Some people here are successful tech people, attorneys, paralegal, business, etc and thought maybe I'd ask because it's too sensitive to post on an open forum like Reddit and my friends and family don't know much about what to do here either.

I can usually talk about my research a bit here but I basically can't in this instance actually without immediately identifying myself lol.
