I'd say that most of humanity don't know what being a "leftist" is.

And I mean, we live in a world that is mostly ruled by neo-liberals, and the "learders" that give some crumbs economically speaking(without even daring to question capitalism at all) and maybe fight for basic human rights are automatically considered fucking leftists/socialists/communists.

I cannot believe sometimes that I have to explain that in a very basic sense being a leftist is about equality while being right wing is about maintaining hierarchical power(or creating new forms of it).

Also when people use Marxism as an insult and I assume they don't even know what the "means of production" is, or if they know anything about class struggle.... so yeah, people don't know shit about what the left is.

So yeah a Left wing Monarchist is hilarious.

But socialism literally is creating a new form of hierarchical power, the totalitarian state that has a monopoly on everything. And producing new classes within a hierarchy that are no different than the estates under monarchy.

This is the fundamental tension with your claim of being "leftist" in that your definition of leftism precludes all self-declared left groups historically and currently.

I have also observed that many so-called centrists, who are "open" to be conservative and right-wing, have no idea what left-wing politics is or even what centrism and conservatism are. People literally got dumber after the Obama years on even using the 1-dimensional description of political stands.

The controversial fight between Imane Khelif, the Algerian boxer who failed a sex test at last year’s World Championships, and Italy’s Angela Carini has been abandoned after just 46 seconds after the Italian suffered a suspected broken nose.

The Telegraph report that the Italian sustained a suspected broken nose in the opening exchanges, leading to her decision to pull out of the fight.

"I put an end to the match because after the second blow, after years of experience in the ring and a life of fighting, I felt a strong pain in my nose.
"I said 'that's enough' because ... I could not bring the match to an end. So I thought, maybe it's better to put an end to the match."
Carini had told reporters that she had "never felt punches" like Khelif's.
"Carini fighting back tears afterwards. Giving lengthy responses to journalists. Said strength of punches was the reason she pulled out," Keegan posted on X.

This makes me legitimately angry. So excuse me if I go Reeeing for a moment.

Well I just watched an Italian boxer Angela Carini fight one of the fighters in question and she quit after being punched hard twice in the face and is crying her eyes out in the ring.

The fight lasted 45 secs and I've never seen anything like it in the ring before.

She clearly has never been hit like that before and thats even with the fighters wearing head guards.

The physical differences were so apparent and I don't like as its not safe for the one on the receiving end of those punches.

I'm not sure why the ioc criteria differs from the IBA's but this is the statement the IBA put yesterday.

I don't understand why this discussion about box is somehow linked to trans tranny_s in sports discussion? As far as I know there's no proof about any of the 2 boxers being trans trann_s, right? Even the commentaries from IBA are very vague about the topic.

Being punched hard is not a proof of anything.

It's a little suspicious that a boxer who seemingly had a completely unexceptional record prior to 2023, and lost in the QF three years ago, is suddenly punching so hard that another Olympic boxer has to concede after just two punches.

Is Imane Khelif actually trans tranny_s? There are so many people spreading lies online that I don't know what to believe. Either way it is a shame the match had to end so quick, I hope Angela Carini is okay, it was so sad to see her crying like that.

I suspect intersex rather than trans but pure speculation. They obviously failed eligibility criteria last year for some reason or other but it isn't specified what that was.

"They've been competing in boxing for a very long time," Adams told reporters. “They've achieved all the eligibility requirements in terms of sex and age. We're following the rules in place in Tokyo."

What's the eligibility criteria?
A passport could be key, based on comments from Adams, the IOC spokesman.

“I would just say that everyone competing in the women’s category is complying with the competition eligibility rules," he said. “They are women in their passports and it is stated that is the case.”

The thing about all this is: it doesn't matter if these dudes are trans or not.

The problem is that the rules have been tweaked to ignore sex, which opens these competitions to abuse regardless of queerness/transness/whatever. Once the eligibility requirements turn into stuff like measuring blood test values or whatever, you will see medal-hungry countries seek high and low for whoever can slip under that bar...man, woman, or starself. 

I would not be surprised if that's exactly what happened here, nor would I be surprised to eventually learn that both of these boxers are fully cis dudes, without any asterisk.

Regardless of the gender identity of these boxers, this whole situation clearly demonstrates the danger that is introduced when qualifying standards exclude a natal sex requirement.

Olympics viewers left in dark by Eurosport and BBC failure to reference boxing gender row

Eurosport and BBC viewers were kept in the dark about the mounting Olympic gender row as the Algerian fighter who failed two sex tests felled an Italian opponent with one ferocious punch.

The BBC had chosen not to screen any live footage of the 46 second mismatch, while Eurosport screened an IOC-subsidiary’s feed which failed to reference the furore once.

IOC attempts to “dial down” scrutiny of Algerian fighter Imane Khelif is now prompting inevitable questions about whether the commenter on duty was told not to mention the row.
