Some people on here don't care that she made a mockery of the dance considering it's not their culture which created breakdancing in the first place. Breakdancing was already get scrutiny and demonisation bc of the underlying cultural reason of it being part of black culture. The once chance it could be taken seriously at first impression was already taken away by her. It doesn't matter that there was significantly better showings later on which showcased why it's an Olympic sport, everything people will first talk about is her and her bad showing

There are numerous of examples of POC entering (and deservingly so) sports that are predominantely white and being far from the elite you see at the olympics and people are usually supportive. It's good to see and every sport in every country has to start somewhere. I'm fine with people having a laugh at her expense but this level of gatekeeping and thinking she "murdered" the art of breakdancing is ridiculous. Specially because it's clear she loves breaking and tries to learn about it, she respects it. She just isn't very good at it. And that's ok, we all have to start somewhere.

There's a very clear difference between what those POC showed in effort in those sports and what Raygun did considering she consistently scored 0 out 0 and everyone knows it. Do you think if this was a random ass competition and not Olympics, people especially black people including I would be reacting that she "murdered" the art form? Nope we wouldn't care

I don’t think Khelif is trans, but it sounds like she did have some sort of biological advantage that could cause controversy and she knows that is the case. I imagine that’s why she opted for “sue everyone with the French” and not dispels the notions in another way.
