And then their is the weaponization of pronouns, I remember this happening on ERA when the Ezra Miller horribleness was going down and some users going "Screw their pronouns" then deliberately misgendering them because in their eyes, they didn't deserve to be gendered correctly. I've seen this happen when trans people have committed crimes, suddenly supposed allies flip the switch and make it clear they were never allies at all. I shouldn't have to say why this is so messed up (and in the case of ERA, the mods is good at banning that shit) but it is to messed up whenever I see it happen on the web. And of course you don't see these same people pulling this shit when cis people do horrible things or commit crimes, it's a special piece of awfulness only used against non-cis people, our existence valid only on good behaviour in their eyes.

I mean, unlike Stellar Blade, this game is a chinese cultural export almost (and that makes it worth playing). Theyre not gonna sex up the women in this game which feels(?) government sponsored. Its just way more mainstream.

Actually I see it differently. I doubt this has anything to do with the government. At the end of the day the devs are probably more traditionalist than sexist and they just really wanted to show historically accurate looking costumes in the game. The same way that the locations in the game are 3d scanned culturally significant sites in China (namely the Shanxi province).

Personally I'm not too unhappy that the game is bombing hard. For one can't stand live service games and second this might send a message that you can't just make a hero shooter game with zero attractive characters. It's not that simple. Cubans were able to create that stronghold because the US gave us, for political reasons, an extraordinary leniency and expediency in immigration. It was cold war era stuff.

Not only does that not exist today for any group, but there are clearly political countermeasures working against Arab and Muslim immigrants and refugees. You have to already have the political grace from the US to form the communities that make those kinds of voting blocs.

I think it's as simple as this - Democrats are getting more from anti-Palestinian political groups and voting blocs than they want to gain from the opposite. Those groups have a lot of power and aren't going to stop, so it seems like a very steep hill to climb.

IMO I do think the optics matter to the Israel supporters, because they are image conscious in general. A lot of them do not even think they are an accessory to the genocide, let alone indecent people. And calling attention to that is effective, which is why it's so important to them to erase it or minimize it.

Isn’t what you guys are doing with Hamas? Minimizing and denying their own atrocities and hope people take “Palestine” (in the vague sense) side by spamming “GENOCIDEGENOCIDEGENOCIDE”. I’m sure as hell some of this activist groups are also financed by foreign governments.
