Once again, basic information gathering is fine. Users that have willingly chosen to link identifying information to their social media accounts and GAF/Ree accounts. Doing some googling around here or there to find more information is fine. Melody Shreds chose to put their face on their bluesky account, for example.

Nothing really wrong with reposting that stuff. It was all publicly given away by them at some point.

But hacking into accounts isn't fine. Leaking IP logs and using info from illegal data breaches is fucked up. Posting real home addresses and phone numbers is especially fucked up. Fuck all that shit.

Whenever people start off a post by letting you know their profession I automatically assume they're full of shit. You see it a lot on Era, especially on the gaming side with people thinking their job equates to them knowing the inner workings of game development.

Every working adult by now should realize that tons of people are terrible at their jobs. It's not just your coworkers, it's present in every industry you're not privy to. Anyway, One Angry Gamer became infamous during the summer of 2020, due to Billy publishing an "Enemies of America" list containing the names of every celebrity and company who endorsed Black Lives Matter. If you want to know more, watch ReviewTech's video about it that he made in response to himself being placed on the list. Ethan Klein & Xanderhal also have videos on One Angry Gamer, plus a bunch of YouTubers whose names I don't recognize. Anyway, at this time, I was just a leftist internet troll who would argue in the comments sections of One Angry Gamer, arguing with Nazis, basically. At this point, Billy was losing money due to an ad boycott of his site, so he abandoned the site. It was quickly bought by a man named Karolis. Karlos at first kept Billy's right-hand man Kevin to write articles. But after a couple of months, he sent out a tweet that One Angry Gamer was looking for new writers. You can guess what came next. I, the humble little leftist anti-Billy troll, applied and was hired in the spring of 2021. I knew that most of the people reading OAG were nazis, so I decided to troll them through official articles. I published dozens of articles taunting them & basically click baiting their racist timeliness. I was only paid $200 a month and Karolis was an apolitical moron who replaced all his other writers with AI, so I felt no guilt. Do you want to see one of my most recent articles? Here I lavish praise on High Guardian Spice. For context, right-wingers HATE High Guardian Spice and especially they hate the heroine. How about one where I praise buff women in video games & taunt right-wingers? The funniest thing is that Karol praised me for bringing traffic to OAG with my controversial "woke" opinions, such as when I caused meltdowns with my Extra Credits is RIGHT article. published a couple years ago. Now whether or not you find my articles cringe, the opinions within are my sincere opinions. Every article that is not mine or Karols is written by AI, so I think my articles are still the most tolerable on the blog. Real fights don't look anything like what you see on screen, though. They're usually very frantic and over extremely quickly. Most real-world fights I've seen are about 80% bluster and then maybe one or two hits before someone's down.

Yeah. Chuck sucks nowadays, but when I was young, I remember a lot of my martial arts masters talking about him like an absolute genuine pro from the tournament circuit.

Depending on the martial art, yeah, it's not going to help you against someone who just wants to end you in a second. There are elements of the training you COULD theoretically apply to a real fight, but most people aren't going to be able to do that in the moment if genuinely forced to defend themselves. It takes a level of skill (and more importantly discipline and improvisation) that most people just will not have in that kind of situation.

Most of the martial arts I learned were really only useful for show fights and tournament fighting where the entire point was the art. It's an entirely different discussion when the other person you're fighting is deliberately using the same style as you are.
