You're right to, that's certainly a big part of it. And the thing is, it's not even a right-wing chud-work or whatever boogeyman people want to pin it on. Apex Legends is a treasure trove of identitarian trinkets, and by all accounts is doing well in a great niche with no signs of slowing down.

You can have this stuff in your game, but there's a right way and a wrong way to do it. Imagine if McDonald's included a big highlight in all of its advertising about how much potassium is contained in their food. Is it ok to have potassium in food? Yes. Do some people deliberately seek out potassium? I gotta assume yes. But no one is slavering for an opportunity to get a burger and fries at "The Potassium Restaurant".

This site really needs to stop fucking dismissing the chuds. Yea they were not as strong in 2014, but over time, it's become a force on YT and even twitch to an extent that people are not paying attention to.

Hell people are now more constantly bringing up AngryJoe, ACG, ect as long as it aligns with their view point.

Even the make only single player message is a hijacked chud talking point to an extent becuase MP games are trying to capture all forms of fans.

Where as the single player AAA LGBTQ+ game isn't really a threat for them. Instead they get to complain about things like Mary Jane not looking pretty enough or whatever shit reason they have.

To be fair I noticed that she completely tones down the boobs and ass of all the fanservicey characters she draws. And it's mostly headshots that draw attention away from the body.

I just don't know why she would even bother to draw them when she's too busy gossiping about how "gross and disgusting" those characters are in the thread. Again she probably likes the characters but is childishly repulsed by remotely anything sexual about them.

The discourse isn't going to improve, and there is frankly nothing the staff or moderation can do about it.

Hey SunnyD, I've been meaning to say thank you for your posts in this topic. It's been really validating to hear someone talk about this game the way it felt to me - as just the tightest, most purely enjoyable thing I'd felt in a long time. Agree that the discourse here has been a dumpster fire, but wanted you to know you were a real bright spot in helping me feel hyped about Concord, one of the best multiplayer games I've ever played.
